Ayush Shrivastava - Mumbai Has Been Very Nice To Me (Actor)

I got good recognition for my role in Dev 2 for colours as a negative character. Also, my Ad with M.S Dhoni for Dream 11 was liked. I did a music video for sony liv sung by Zubin Nautiyal " main tujhsa hogaya" which was also praised a lot... and then Abhay happened which made things better for me.

1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

Basically, I come from Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh, did my graduation in B TECH from Bhilai Chhattisgarh, after my graduation, I came to Mumbai in pursuit of becoming an actor as I was always fond of dramatics and dance in school, college.

I was always up for extra co-curricular activities .. these things always excited me and my creative energy. So from 2016, I am working as an actor .. my first show was suryaputrakarna for Sony tv .. I played the role of a younger son of Arjun - shrutkarma a character in Mahabharata, then I did a lot of other shows, ads, music videos, films

I got good recognition for my role in Dev 2 for colours as a negative character .. also my Ad with M.S Dhoni for dream11 was liked. I did a music video for sony liv sung by Zubin Nautiyal " main tujhsa hogaya" which was also praised a lot.. and then Abhay happened which made things better for me. Also, an art house feature film called "Amar colony" will be coming next year look out for that one.

Totally the journey has been very amazing and exciting for me .. luckily Mumbai has been very nice to me and has given me continuous chances to perform in various ways. I believe in the process so have been doing that only .. and things are coming up the way.

2. How and when you decided to be an Actor?

Honestly, I always wanted to be one. It's something very intuitive to me or natural. I think I never thought of doing something else, yes cricket being an exception.

But acting, dancing, performing always was a part of me .. since my childhood hence it was not a very heavy task for me to convince my parents as well. So as soon as I completed my studies I came to Mumbai.

3. How was your experience working in "Abhay" and what you have achieved from this show?

Abhay was a wonderful show and I was really very excited to do it because I watched the first season and I loved it. I wished to get a part in it and it happened in the second season. So yes, working in Abhay was really amazing. Also, I m very fond of Kunal khemu's work so that was one of the reasons too. We have worked together in kalank.. so again getting a chance to work with him was great learning.

What I achieved from it can not really be summarised, because I believe every opportunity you get small or big comes with a set of experience for you which you understand in some other point of time in your life.

I try to be in the moment and witness it as it goes.

4. Tell us something about your role in your upcoming show "Love Scandal & Doctors"?

So it's a medical drama about 5 interns and a murder in which I am one of the intern ... we are right now in the midst of the shooting schedule so I cannot really reveal much about it but yes soon a lot of things about it will be out .. so keep your eyes on it.

5. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring artists?

I can say it from my experience that artists are the most sensitive people. They dream they love, they care, whatever they do they do it with a lot of passion .. so it's sometimes tough to hold on in this kind of uncertain field... it gets very disappointing ... so it's really important to stay close to your parents, family and friends who have been there for you always, they also help you to show you the right path.

I cannot really advice one general the thing to everyone because different things work for different people but the important thing is, to be honest towards whatever you are doing and by honest I mean to say really analysing the "what's" and "why's" of something you want to do be it acting, singing, dancing, filmmaking .. and being good to people around you .. which takes things a long way.

For me meditation work wonders. I feel everyone should meditate especially artists. It's the best way to connect to your self. And that's what we need the most before connecting outside we need to connect with our own self.

6.Which is your favourite book and why?

Bhagavad Gita.

I m not very fond of fictional books. I like to read more about biographies or spiritual books.

Bhagavad Gita is one book for me which helps you out in any situation of life. If you read it you will know it's knowledge is such which one can apply in any phase of their life. There is everything for all of us.
