Tell us about your background and journey.
I was born in India but raised in the UAE. I am a passionate cook and a doting mother who feels pride in calling UAE my home away from home for the comfort & security it has given me.
Life was steady with a successful career in UAE from 2001 to 2018, but long hours and lack of work satisfaction prompted to me quit my job and take a break. However, my food blogging turned out to be more magnetic than a corporate job and hence became a full-time blogger.
What led you to start your page on Instagram?
Food interest inspired me to start Instagram and later a website blog of my own www.vegistaeats.com. Since I was a passionate cook and could barely find time for cooking during my work life, I dedicated all the time for cooking after quitting the job.

Is it financially sustainable to be a blogger today?
Well, I would say blogging is also an art. Once you have mastered the art and it starts reaching the right kind of audience, it can be a source of financial sustainability. Patience is the key.

Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?
That’s a tough question for a foodie. However, Indian & Mexican are my favourite cuisines. If I have to pick just one dish out of each, it would be Vada Pav & Burrito.

I am not too much into fashion but I admire Jumana Khan’s styling sense. From Abaya’s to tracks, she carries everything very beautifully.
How long does it take to get a perfect Instagram shot?
It can take a minute or even half an hour. It all depends on the Lighting, background & texture.

For instance, daylight may give an instagrammable shot without much effort but if the lighting is not perfect, photography can become taxing.

Indian Super Foods by Rujuta Diwekar. I like it because it got me more acquainted with my kitchen in terms of health & nutrition. You don’t need to run around groceries in hunt of kale to get all the nutrition, our methi & spinach leaves can also get the job done.
