The only difference is that in arts, because it is the entertainment industry and it is public, more people get to know about the struggle and in business people do not.

1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

I was raised in Germany Frankfurt and I had a European upbringing infused with Indian values. My grandmother from my fathers side was a white German woman. My childhood was happy and carefree.

2. When did you first decide you wanted to pursue music and be in the entertainment business, how did you start?

When I was 12 years old, there was this African American kid who stayed at the same block whom I used to hang around with. His father was in the military and his whole family was stationed in Frankfurt. One day we were playing in his house and his elder brother walked in. The older brother must have been around 20 years of age and on in his arm he had the prettiest girl I had ever seen. She looked a combination of a young Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell.

The couple greeted us and then we were ignored. They only had eyes for each other. The  brother of my friend suddenly started to sing for his girl. It sounded beautiful, he had a rich, clear, dark voice and even though my interest in girls had not puked yet, I sensed that something beautiful was happening.I still remember the way the girl looked at him while he sang to her. That is when I decided that I want to be a singer.

When I got older I started singing in a band. We had a van for the boys and equipment, did gig and had a lot of fun. It was a wild time. My proper carrier started when I shifted base to India Bombay. My sister Mink was already into movies and one day we sat down and I asked her about how she would feel if we became producers and make a Bollywood feature. She loved the idea.

My sister and myself wrote a script, registered a banner under the name ‘Bro and Sis Productions’ and made a movie called ‘Katputtli’. It goes without saying that I had a large role to play in the music of the film. After that I directed and produced various music videos, was busy with shows etc...

3. What do you enjoy more, being a singer or songwriter?

For me  singing and writing goes hand in hand, both comes natural to me.

4. How have you been managing  quarantine?

I am very lucky to stay with a family. So having loved ones around makes it a lot easier. Luckily, Androtech is not affected at all by the pandemic and continues to do well and grow. On the entertainment side, things have slowed down of course but I do not really mind. It gave me a lot of time to create, write, make music and so on.

5. According to you What are some of the major challenges in the music industry ?

There are challenges in every industry or in any business. If you are looking for a controversial answer than I can not give you one.The only difference is that in arts, because it is the entertainment industry and it is public and more people get to know about the struggle and in business people do not.

6. Tell us something about your upcoming projects ?

Well, Androtech will be continuing on its path and will continue to grow. In entertainment there is a plan of releasing quite a few songs in the coming months. A line up has already been drawn.

One song for which a video has been shot will be released via a music label but beside that, I am planning to release some songs on my YouTube channel personally. The songs will be Punjabi songs and English songs.

7. Who is your all time artist and why?

That is a very difficult question. As a musician it would be impossible for me to just pick one. But my early musical influences From Germany was soul, jazz, even old Bollywood songs from the black and white era which my mother used to enjoy, or reggae for a time being. To name all the artists who influenced me would take up way to much space.

8. What is your mantra for success?

Keep at it and whatever you do, keep it clean, if it is a sound you are creating or in business dealings. For me clean equals logic, and logic can not be denied.
