The first step was to defeat all odds and just listen to what you actually want from your life, just follow your passion but in a sincere way.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

When I was in my school days I use to listen to the radio a lot, since then I developed a dream in my eyes to become an RJ. But as we all know destiny has it's own plan of work. Due to academics and typical career planning, I have done my graduation and Post-graduation in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

After 2016 I finally got a way to peruse for what I was made. I joined the as a cricket jockey in MYFM radio and also started freelancing corporate events and family functions hosting. It took me about 2 years from here to finally put RJ in front of my name.

The journey was challenging enough to go against the waves but it is possible if you the strong will with you.

2. Why did you chose RJing as a career and what were the first steps you took?

Becoming a Radio jockey was a dream I was cherishing since my school days but it took me about 10 years to complete it. Talking to so many people and becoming a voice city was my goal and to have this unconventional career which I can enjoy was the main objective that made me come to this milestone.

The first step was to defeat all odds and just listen to what you actually want from your life, just follow your passion but in a sincere way.

3. What challenges can one face during live calls?

It's a very interesting job to talk to a city on a regular basis but listening to everyone and responding them as per their will is somewhat a hard task but fortunately, I enjoy it. Sometimes you need to test your patience in live calls because you never know what will be there on the next page.

4. What are the skills required to be a radio jockey?

Be what you actually are, don't try to imitate. Love your work and think out of the box. A Radio jockey is a voice of city so he/she should be a voice of himself/herself first.

You should know how people think, how a common man and a celebrity thinks on every topic. You should know about the nukkad as well as the 5-star societies of your city. You should be a person whom everyone will love to talk and share.

You should be lively and jolly enough to make everyone feel that they are talking to their friend. Besides this, you should have a nice knowledge of how to portray news and updates in an entertaining way on the radio with excellent conversation skills.

5. Does one also need to be technologically savvy in your favourite?

It's not a need to technologically expert in this stream but yes you need to be updated enough in what is going on in the world of tech. You never know what topic you will have tomorrow to talk on.

6. What makes a person connect with their audience as an RJ?

The feeling of equality and connection, the more listeners will feel that you are their friend the more they will connect with you. Try to bring what they think on Air in your shows. Be their voice, try to explore what they want. Don't force your opinion on them, try to know their opinion and furnish it in front of them in your unique way.

7. Which is your favourite book?

Honestly, I am not a person who reads a lot but yes if you ask me about books from which I am inspired a lot then Bhagwat Geeta is one of them. It actually taught me many life lessons which I actually apply in my life. Also the Harry Potter series is also in my list.
