Jude Martin - It All Started by Writing Food Reviews in Zomato (Food & Event Blogger)

It started with writing food reviews on Zomato way back in 2014 when things were different and it was never a plan to be so actively involved in writing about food however I continued to do so for a long time which further gave me the boost to create a space and write blogs from 2016.

I have been writing blogs since then and now Social Media is a thing so, I am moving with the times and trying to put fresh Content for all out there as well

Tell us about your background and journey.

So my journey was a very fun-filled one to reach a certain stage of appreciation by all now. I had my share of ups and downs in this time phase.

I have Won the Top Food Blogger Awards 2018,2019 and 2020 in different categories which gives me the fuel to move on. This year I have also Won some more Contests by Eatable and Explorex App during the Lockdown time called the Unlock Experiences and Battle of the Bloggers 2020.

Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?

I enjoy so many cuisines, very difficult to select one but Awadhi, Mughlai, North Indian, Dhakai, Italian and Pan Asian are my top choices.

Some of my favourite dishes from these are Awadhi Dum Biryani, Galauti Kebabs, Kolkata Biryani, Haleem, Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken, Aloo Paratha, Pizza's, Burmese Khao Suey, Pad Thai Noodles, Kung Pao Chicken and lots more.

Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

I believe everything takes time and if one can give their best without compromising on the quality of work, the output of it will definitely give that spotlight to make it a Career. One needs to push their Passion to go ahead.

Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

The places which I often visit and recommend are Momo I Am, New Aliah, Chowman, Elahi Luxury Dining, The Bhoj Company, Sly Fox Gastro Club, The Grid, Banana Leaf, Roastery, Drumroll, My Big Fat Belly, BBQ Restaurant Park Street, Krazzy For Waffle, The Flaming Bowl, Black Brick Cafe and the list goes on.

What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

For me personally, I think it's very straightforward to be satisfied with the food and service from a place. The ambience and everything else I am ok to deal with but the Food and Service must not be a let down otherwise that's certainly a thing to worry about.

Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

Probably a Sundae (Dessert) as it is a mix of everything colourful and generously served too.

I think I have tasted life in different flavours so far and i am still ready with my wide arms open for more twists.

What does your typical day look like?

From the Blogging perspective, it's mostly packed with so much to do always. Right from reaching all the multiple places for the day on time to do food shoots, tasting, giving feedback to the management, coming back home and doing the necessary editing and all.

It's a very creative and effort based role to do before the final content goes out for posting.
