Sushmita John - I Would Say, Talent Plus Proper Professional Training Takes The Dancers Out To The World (Dancer)

 

I used to dance when I was a kid- I just used to dance watching tv. I haven’t learnt dancing. My teacher was my mom and my brother when I did in my school, and every time I used to bag only 1st position. So I used to dance on spot to the music, and still continue so and took the show as a challenge and pursued.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I’m Sushmita Elizabeth John. I’m a dancer, singer, actor, model and also into sports. I was miss baby queen in my childhood days(twice in school)
I was kalathilakam for years and I was the semi finalist in D4 dance season 1 , and D4 dance reloaded.

I have acted in movies(very short role). My First movie is "a yalum njhanum thammil", "Bharya atra pora", "Lucky star" and I did  Christian album songs.

I Did advertisement for Nedughadi silks sareeparadise (Palakkad) and ad for planet jewels as well. Also I was a sports champion in my school. And I had achieved Pune award for drawing competition as well.

I’m still lazy in studies, but after D4 dance I finished my education. I got in as a cabin crew of national carrier of India-Air India ltd. I served for almost 3 years
I have resigned now and still continuing with my further studies.
For me job comes first, whereas I can do the rest after settling myself.

2. When did you realize your passion for dancing?

3. Is format training required or can one train themselves purely on the basis of talent?

I would say that - if you have talent you can reach anywhere,  and if your really talented it would be seen in your act, but if your not and just a trained person in any field , that’s also depicted.

But when your talented and if you train the talent which is there , will come out as a polished one. So I would say talent plus proper professional training take us out to the world.

4. What are some of the challenges you face and how do you overcome it?

Every day is a challenge , we can’t avoid those , the only option is to undergo that with thought of positivity.

5. How do you plan to take your career forward?

I’m now pursuing with my studies and I have let everything to God, so I go through the path which he had designed for every individual . So as of now going with the flow.
