1. Tell us more about yourself and your profession.
My name is Tracy Stober and I am a fitness coach. I have always been into health and fitness and started helping people reach their fitness goals almost 4 years ago. My passion is to help people whether it’s psychologically, emotionally, or physically and I find this has been a perfect fit for me.
2. What is your fitness mantra?
You’re stronger than you think. Our mind will give up 99 times before our body does. If you push a little bit more if you tell yourself you WILL do it, if you tell yourself you CAN do it, you’ll prove yourself right!
3. What are some of the major misconceptions about diets and exercises?
I always tell people "If it’s too good to be true, then it is." there will always be a new diet fad, that will draw you in, take your money, your time and then give you nothing in return.
People assume that they have to cut out carbs, sugar, and eat 1200 calories to lose weight. If you do that, you will end up depriving your body of what it needs, you won’t see the results you want to see, and eventually, you’ll crave everything you cut out of your diet and you’ll gain back the weight.
Focus on a well-balanced meal, focus on a well-balanced lifestyle and you’ll get the results you need.
4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle?
Balance!!! And allow yourself to have a cheat meal or a cheat day! Remember you won’t gain weight overnight - you also won’t lose weight overnight. It takes time, patience, and consistency!!!
5. How can one build a successful career in your field?
Be passionate, be compassionate, and be present and LISTEN!!! Everyone’s goals are different, everyone’s abilities are different. One program, one workout, one meal plan will not work for every single person. You have to hear what your clients are saying, but You also have to hear what they are not saying.
If you are truly there for them, not solely for the money, not solely to be the best you can be. But you’re there so they can be the best they can be, your success will speak for itself.
6. What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to lose weight?
You cannot out-train a bad diet!!! If you don’t rest well, you won’t see any type of results! It takes consistency and it takes patience. Don’t expect immediate results, but also don’t expect it to be easy! As long as your drive and passion to hit your goal is there, you eventually will.
7. How do diets and exercise contribute to overall well being and happiness?
I honestly don’t believe in diets. I believe in healthy living and a healthy lifestyle. Diet fads come and go, don't eat carbs, eat carbs, don’t eat at night, eat at night, don’t eat fat, eat fat. They always contradict each other snd they confuse people.
Focus on a balanced diet. Eat carbs, eat healthy fats, eat protein snd eat your fruits and veggies. Don’t expect yourself to look like someone else! You are you, no one else. I always tell people - "Be yourself, as everyone else is taken."
