1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am Mahima Choudhary, a resident of Ramesh Nagar, New Delhi. We’re 5 members in a family including my parents and siblings. I completed my schooling from Adarsh Public School with commerce background. Currently, I’m pursuing Economics Honours from Deshbandhu College, Delhi University.

In my leisure time I love cooking and eating various cuisines. I’m little introvert from the start, it takes time for me to be comfortable but once I’m open, I’m unstoppable. I like writing about some real issues so I write blogs sometime. When I feel heavy, writing helps me in feeling lighter.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

My page is all about food with some glimpse of beauty.

Here’s the back story -

I’m a big foodie since childhood. Apart from eating, I love cooking too. I used to click different shots of different cuisines due to which I had many collection of different dishes. So I thought why not to make a separate page where I’ll post my collection.

So without any intention of becoming an influencer, I just made a page ‘Khaate jaao’ on 27th January 2020 where I used to post my collection just for my leisure time. After some months, one of my close friend Gautam Khanijo asked me if he can also join this, so we both started a new journey and changed the name ‘khaate jao’ to ‘foodiiotic’.

Gautam really helped me in growing this page And genuinely without him, I don’t think Foodiiotic would grow. After some months we saw that we’re getting a very good response so we started working as an influencer collaborating and promoting other brands too.

Though gautam got busy due to his career building, Now I handle this page solely. But Gautam will always be the foodiiotic partner as he was there when foodiiotic was nothing. Now I’ve also added some beauty content to foodiiotic and it is also getting good response.

Soon we’re going to reach 10k milestone and really would give credits to me, Gautam, My family, my close friends and obviously followers who gave us so much of love. Thank you for always supporting us. We’ll always try to post some entertaining and useful content that our audience would love.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

If You’re an influencer, you have to actively expand your niche of people who follow your content and feed into your trust. This means that your following must consist of friends, fans and other influencers within your niche.

Influencers show dedication to their niche by making it a point to become an expert in their content and collaborating with similar people. Not all influencers are celebrities, but this is how influencers become “celebrities” within their niche.

Meanwhile, bloggers may not take the time to expand their niche. If you’re a blogger, you share content for you and for the niche that naturally develops from sharing your content. Being an expert in your field and sharing the content is one thing, but having to worry about interacting within your niche is another.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

I think yes but I don’t think we should depend on it from the start. As it needs so much of dedication, hard work for long time to be financially sustainable as an influencer. So we should start it without any intention to earn and just work so hard consistently and put all efforts for long time to be financially sustainable.

Though I’m here just because I love doing this not for financial purpose but yes if we do consistent hard work then this is best source of income.

5. What do you think influences consumer behaviour?

There are a lot of things that influences consumer behaviour like psychologically some motivation, perception, learning, beliefs and attitude influences their behaviour. Personally their lifestyle, age, occupation and economic circumstances affects their behaviour.

So we have to be careful about what content we post as it influences consumer behaviour on a large scale. We have to post content that doesn’t affect their sentiments, culture, religion. Rather we should post content according to the audience’s preference.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

My Idea of success is that we should work so hard consistently without any expectation of the result. We should put utmost efforts. If we do this, we’ll definitely reach heights of success.

Main is we should never compare our self with anyone’s success as the process might be slow but eventually everyone gets what they deserve and what they invest.

My Mantra of Life is the motto of my school ‘Simple living, High Thinking’
The concept of simple living high thinking is not just about a clutter-free closet or a cleanroom. To have peace of mind and live a truly blessed life, we need to follow this simple living high thinking theory in life.

Some of us have money, some of us don’t and some of us have that in plenty and still, our peace of mind is not as much as that worker who sleeps on the footpath with no worries. We as a society look at them in wonderment and pity, but in reality, it is them that should pity us.

7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

Personally, I believe, in order to become a successful social media influencer, one should just be focussed on the real and genuine content that audience like. Just work hard and be consistent on the content that target major part of audience without any expectation of the growth as gradually people will automatically follow us if we focus on good content.

First of all, we have to build a trust between our self and audience.
Secondly, we have to be sincere with our content and promotions, be honest about our opinions. Our audience should be above our ego, and we should respect their feedback and modify ourselves.

Lastly we have to be authentic that means being our true self. Social media is a mirror, we see what we project there. But if we are authentic, we’ll see so many kinds of amazing people will love us for everything that we offer them and they’ll support us in our journey.

8. Which is your favourite book and why?

Well, this is a funny question as I’m not a book lover. Still if I’ve to answer this question then I’ll not gonna lie and definitely say I love reading Champak and Nandan sort of funny magazines lol.
