Michael Ealy opens up about his worst moment of his life. He recently starred in the psychological thriller ‘The Intruder’ where he plays one half of the newly-wed couple. After the couple buys their dreamhouse, everything falls apart.

Bad Company - The Movie

When Michael Ealy got a small part in the movie ‘Bad Company’ alongside Chris Rock, he was so excited. He, kind of, was a big fan of the other and watched all his movies. Michael, after playing in an episode in the ‘Law and Order’ was ready for acting and did an audition for ‘Bad Company’.

He didn’t get the part he auditioned for but the director, Joel Schumacher saw something in him and wrote a special character involvement for him.

His First Meet With Chris Rock

Michael enjoyed his days on shoot and Joel was great. He was a little nervous to meet Chris Rock as he was at his peak in his career and everyone idolized him. At first, Michael felt that Chris was indifferent to him.

As the whole movie was being filmed, Chris was the same. At their reshoot for Chris and Kerry’s wedding, Michael played the best man, Chris looked at Michael and said: ‘You still in business, huh?’.

Michael felt extremely disrespectful and was crushed. He was devastated and Kerry stood up for him too and for that he still loves her.

How Did That Moment Turn His Life?

The moment changed his life. He was very angry and he clearly had two choices in his life to make. He could either become successful or quit the “show business” and prove Chris right. He made up his mind that day.

After A Few Years…

Michael worked so hard and was professional in all the works that he did and he met Chris again in the 2005 Golden Globes. He was nominated for the drama ‘Sleepercell’ and met him when he was rushing to the bathroom.

Chris apologized to him for what he said and he also added that he loved Michael’s work. Michael cried at the moment because Chris remembered what he did and owned his mistake. That mattered a lot to him.

The Moral

Michael found this moment of his life as a takeaway. There will be a lot of people who will not believe in what we are doing. It doesn’t mean that we have to give up. We have to keep pushing.

Plus, he learned how to treat others, well in this case, how not to treat others. It was not Chris’ call to make if Michael wanted to be in the show business or not. Michael fixed his goal, worked on it and achieved it.
