What is nanorobotics?
‘Nano’ is derived from the Greek word 'Nanos' which means 'dwarf’. Nano robots are not bigger
than a thousandth of a millimeter and can be even smaller.
Nanorobotic refers to the
nanotechnology engineering domain of modelling.
To build nanorobots along with the device volume ranges from 0.1 to 10 micrometers. There are
various kinds of terms to describe such nanorobots that have been used in research presently it
includes nanotool, nanotoid, nanite, nanomachine, or nanomite.
The first Nano-sized robots were
reported in 2005, Nano-car also introduced made by fullerene molecules. At 2010 three leading
designs of nanorobots are ensued- helices (also called Nano swimmers), nanorods (also called
Nano swimmers, Nano motors.)
In research development phase nanomachines are widely used. There are many machines as
such being tested currently in order to find it’s application of nanomedicine.
Nanomedicine
Nanorobots are majorly used in Nano medicine eg, computational genes when inducted into the
body in order to restore or perceive damages and infections. In an outlook that are entirely
programmed to remain the cells that are damaged or diseased. Their way of method is identical
to antibodies in a more natural way of healing system.
Nanorobots are robots that reach out to certain processes that can be effectively used for drug
delivery and are approx.(5-100nm) wide. Using nanotechnology the drug can be navigated to a
precise location where it pulls out great efficacy of the drug and it reduces the probability of contracting the side effects.
Generally, the drug work through the whole body before reaches the
disease affected area. A device is effective to view the sugar level in the blood.
There is a unique sensor that is available where it can be put in the human blood under the skin,
where microchips are coated with human molecules, they are formulated in the way it emits an
electrical impulse signal so that it monitors sugar level in the blood.
Robotics is widely contemplated in medicine and biosciences. They are programmed in such a
way that it is programmed to execute surgery on regular basis. Nanobiotechnology shows
another branch in robotics resulting in the growth of nanorobots which is referred to as nanobots.
Nanobots are miniaturized so that they are introduced in the human body, through vascular
system travels to various vessels of the body as well as other cavities in the body. This surgical
nanobot can be manipulated by the surgeon more autonomously as the surgeon inside the body.
Many other functions can be performed by nanomanipulation such as searching for pathology,
diagnosing, removal or correction of the lesion can be executed.
Nanobots can execute detailed surgery or refined intracellular surgery far beyond the ability to
manipulate through a human hand.
