Shamim Khatri - As an Influencer You Should Provide a Lot of Information to the Audience /Consumers (Blogger)

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am an Indian, married and mum of 2 kids residing here in UAE from 35 years. I was born and bought up here and my education was completed here too. I am MBA in sales and marketing with 7+ years experience working with international company in Dubai - Fonterra foods.

After I got married, I changed my profession and currently working in a renowned award wining nursery in Sharjah as a Nursery Manager. (Happy Home Nursery)
I am also a entrepreneur and started my own skills development centre in heart of Sharjah (Opera Music and Arts).

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

I am open to new learning and exploring too. I started my page on Instagram as @flavours_and_makeover in December 2019 and my page is all about food, fashion, product reviews (Skincare and Designer jewellery & bags).

I started my page thinking of my skills in marketing and using my bringing out my creativity to explore my talent.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

The term blogger means someone who has a blog on the website and they publish their valuable content. The term influencer means someone who influences people around (audience) and help them make purchasing decision.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be a blogger today?

With the current market situation where business are struggling in survival due to COVID - 19 so currently it's not finally sustainable.

5. What do you think influences consumer behaviour?

As an influencer you should provide a lot of information to the audience/ consumers which can help and convivence their purchasing decision and next targeting the right audience and age.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

Success is not easy. Always keep challenging yourself as failure is the best teacher. Work hard and be focused, keeping open mind. I believe that I win people with my smile (my biggest weapon)

7. How can someone become a successful social media blogger?

To be a successful blogger be yourself and do what are you good at and love doing most. Socialize and be focused.

8. Which is your favourite book and why?

My favourite book is working with Emotional Intelligence.
It helps me to deal with emotions and builds stronger relationship to achieve both career and personal goals.
