Aahan Malhotra - Outdated Curriculum of the Universities in India Made Me Start My Own Start-up Of Upskilling & Bridging the Gap (Founder - Edudictive)

After teaching for 3 years, I felt that the curriculum we are following in schools is outdated so students must be facing in colleges for upskilling themselves.

So, the idea of Edudictive came into the mind and we begin the market research and much other stuff. Today we have mentored more than 12000+ students free of cost during the lockdown, now the aim is to provide opportunities to more than 2000 students in the next 6 months.

Tell us more about your background and journey.

I don’t belong to any privileged background, just had one dream that is whatever I will do, Aim would be to make some good contribution to society.so I opted for teaching future generation and started a coaching centre.

Before starting up Edudictive, worked with various startups so that is what I recommend to wantrepreneurs too.

What skills do you look for while hiring a fresher?

As of now, we have hired only a few freshers but all of them are those who interned with us, so we hire interns based on their zeal to learn multiple things.

How do you keep your teams and employees engaged?

By having weekly informal discussions and organizing fun activities.
Creating a culture is most important in startups and I focused on that from day 1 and here we are more than 300+ interns have joined us in the last 12 months.

Tell us more about your organization Edudictive.

Edudictive is an e-mentorship platform where our mission is to make students realize their potential and provide them with all resources from learnings to opportunities so that they don’t have to face challenges.

Comment on the quality of education in business schools in India and what challenges do you face while training a fresher?

Quality of business schools is something on which I don’t want to make comment as there are the positive and negative side of everything but what I want to say is students need to change their attitude and mindset from their school time only, everyone just seeks for the outcome, they don’t want to put hard work to achieve something.

Freshers hiring is something which is not a challenge for me as we convert interns to full time only.

But in general, the challenges that companies are facing are, students are just focusing upon learning tools, not understanding sentiments and the process involved which ultimately is more the worrying thing than not knowing any tool, because they don’t unlearn and relearn.

My single advice to all readers of eatmynews would be that the internet has brought a lot of growth potential with the scope of growing internationally, so take that advantage.

Also, focus on money-making but only once you are skilled enough otherwise you will miss a lot of things in life.
