Dr. Poonam Agarwal - India Is World-Famous For Its Doctors and Produces the World's Best From Its Reputable Institutions (Homeopathic Doctor From India)

Dr. Poonam Agarwal

I want to raise awareness regarding health and positively influence patients' lives. Sometimes people are not aware and tend to ignore the initial symptoms of disease and seek medical help when the disease has already advanced. I would try to educate the masses and reach out to the poor and underprivileged.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I was born and brought up in Delhi, India. I did my schooling and medical studies in India. I worked in govt hospital and then started my private practice. I moved to the UK 3 years back.

2. Despite so much talent in India, why do people look abroad for treatment?

For some families, the quest to find treatment abroad is driven by the belief that treatments available outside India may offer a better chance of cure. It is usually for serious diseases like various types of cancers and neurological diseases.

3. How important is a super specialization for doctors?

Super specialization helps doctors to emerge as experts in their field as they spend 3 years exclusively studying that particular field of medicine, but it does not mean that they ignore other subjects.

4. What do u think are the key differences in studying medicine in India and other countries?

Academically there is not much difference in the syllabus. In some universities, infrastructure is better than others. India is world-famous for its doctors and produces the world's best from its reputable institutions.

5. Which studies are best for studying medicine besides India?

Canada, Sweden, UK, USA all offer good medicine courses. But it depends on choice. Some students choose to study according to fee and opportunities to settle down thereafter studies.

6. What is your take on virtual methods of providing treatment?

It has both pros and cons. Nowadays, it is very useful in providing contact-free treatment. It also helps to reach out to more patients. But a physical examination of patients plays a very important role in diagnosis and proper treatment, which is lacking in virtual modes of treatment.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

The Bhagwad Geeta is my favorite book. Although it is difficult to understand, we learn many life lessons that lie within. It inculcates the right and unbiased perspective of knowing ourselves as well as the entire creation.

8. What impact do u want to create in the medical field?

I want to raise awareness regarding health and positively influence patients' lives. Sometimes people are not aware and tend to ignore the initial symptoms of disease and seek medical help when the disease has already advanced. I would try to educate the masses and reach out to the poor and underprivileged.
