“It’s like a jungle with machines—raw, tribal energy fused with sharp, futuristic sound.”
Q. The name ‘Skeletron’ is bold and mysterious—what’s the story behind it? Does it represent a particular mindset or side of you as an artist?
Back in school, I used to get teased and called “skeleton” because I was super thin kind of funny looking back at it now. Later, when I got into electronic dance music, I took that nickname and gave it a twist. I added "tron" from "electronic" and made it Skeletron. It wasn’t about a specific mindset or persona, I just followed my heart, and it stuck.
Q. Your music feels like it belongs in a futuristic realm—raw, textured, and immersive. If Skeletron’s sound were a world, what would it look like?
It would be a mix of tribal energy and modern technology. Imagine ancient rhythms with futuristic sounds, raw, earthy, but also sharp and digital. It’s like a jungle with machines.
Q. Every artist has a defining moment—the point where passion turns into purpose. What was that moment for you in your musical journey?
It happened during college when I participated in a DJ competition and won first place. That moment changed everything for me. It wasn’t just about having fun with music anymore. That win gave me clarity: This is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
Q. Genre-bending seems to come naturally in your music. Do you consciously push boundaries, or do you let your sound evolve instinctively?
I don’t like putting myself in a box when it comes to making music. I just go with what feels right and evolve based on what I’m into at the moment. But no matter what genre I’m exploring, I always bring in my tribal touch, it’s a part of me and my sound.
Q. With technology constantly shifting how music is made and consumed, what part of the current scene excites you the most as an electronic artist?
What excites me the most is how accessible everything has become. You can create full tracks from your laptop, collaborate with artists from around the world, and reach listeners instantly through streaming and social media. The possibilities are endless and the freedom to experiment without limits is what keeps me inspired.
Q. If you had a chance to collaborate with any artist—mainstream or underground—who would it be, and what kind of sonic experience would you want to create together?
Definitely Skrillex. Whatever he touches turns to gold. His sound design, creativity, and energy are on another level. If I ever got the chance to collab with him, we’d make a tribal banger for sure something raw, powerful, and unforgettable.
Q. For someone discovering your work for the first time, which track or performance should they start with to understand the essence of Skeletron?
I’d say start with my all-time hit, “Jamal.” That track really captures the core of my sound tribal energy, modern production, and raw emotion. If you want to understand what Skeletron is all about, “Jamal” is the perfect intro.
