Nini Gogicha - Fame Might Seem Very Tempting, Although, In Reality It Is A Great Responsibility (Miss World Georgia 2019)

The main beauty, I still believe, is to be beautiful on the inside. We have to accept and love ourselves the way we are. Every person has their own beauty and if others cannot see that, it is their problem. No one has the right to diminish someone because of how they look, because they are either “too skinny” or “too fat”, and the list goes on. Our individualism and characteristics is exactly what makes us special.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I was born in a family of artists and television personalities. I used to see my mom and dad on TV more often than at home because of profession. I have a sister, who is also a famous TV personality, she is a painter as well, designs jewelry and creates collections.

As for my grandparents, they are distinguished actors, who continue their work to this day and many of their films are taking part in prestigious international film festivals. This is the kind of family I was born in.

And I always thought that journalism was the profession that I would feel most comfortable with, because at home I had my biggest supporters as well as my biggest critics, which would most definitely help me grow as a professional.

As soon as I entered the university, I was offered my first television job for a very interesting project. It was a great challenge which I was not afraid to take on. This is how I entered the world of journalism, and after that, I have been working with different channels and interesting projects to this day.

2. Did you ever dream of becoming Miss World Georgia 2019?

At first, it was a grand dream of my grandfather. He used to always ask my mother to convince me to participate in Miss Georgia contest in order to win it and travel to the Miss World contest. Although, for me, I think my sister was the biggest inspiration to make this decision.

She had taken part in both Miss Georgia and Miss Universe contests and was named among the 100 most famous and influential women on the planet. I was always offered to participate in Miss Georgia, but I was studying and didn’t have the time.

And finally, when I graduated from the university, I decided to take a chance. It was in a very difficult period of my life. My biggest supporter was my father and I dedicated my victory to him.

3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to make it as a famous personality?

In my opinion, being famous doesn’t necessarily mean achieving great success. The most important thing for a person is to find their passion, be happy with what they are doing and find themselves in the process.

With hard work and not giving up, great success and fame will come sooner or later. It’s important to never forget to believe in yourself and never give up on your dreams.

4. If not this, what would you be doing?

If I hadn’t chosen to be a television personality and a model, I would have most definitely been a veterinarian. I have deep love for animals and I would have been extremely happy to have been able to help them.

5. For a compete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?

From afar, fame might seem very tempting, although, in reality, it is a great responsibility. You are always in the public eye, always a subject of discussion and criticism. Every word, every action is surrounded by attention. Bullying and heartbreak is a big part of fame.

That is why I think that people should always be prepared for anything and no matter what, never lose faith in themselves and to never be satisfied with what they have achieved, to always work hard for more progress and development.

In my opinion, thinking about fame and how interesting they are to other people should be less important.

6. What is your success mantra?

I strongly believe that we should treat people the way we want to be treated. Nothing is more important in life than kindness and love. This is what will remain with us always. Mantra of my success is probably hard work and kindness. I always try never to affect anyone around me negatively.

7. What is your opinion of body image created by the media and how hard is it to put up with it?

The main beauty, I still believe, is to be beautiful on the inside. We have to accept and love ourselves the way we are. Every person has their own beauty and if others cannot see that, it is their problem.

No one has the right to diminish someone because of how they look, because they are either “too skinny” or “too fat”, and the list goes on. Our individualism and characteristics is exactly what makes us special.

8. How important is social media validation in your profession?

In today’s world, social media plays a great role for people’s careers and because of social media you get a lot of different offers and opportunities. Although, personally, I don’t spend too much of my time on social media, which does require a lot of time.

But since I live in a small country, I do always help startups and youth by promoting their products for free in order to help their businesses. I am really happy to be able to help a lot of motivated young people this way.

9. How can one take care of their mental health in this high pressure glamorous field?

Mental health is one of the most important subjects today. We all have to be there for one another, to be kinder and never mean. Because even one wrong word can have a fatal result for someone else. Nobody deserves to suffer.

I think people should start talking about mental health more openly in order to break stereotypes around the subject. We all have to show love, support and understanding to each other.

10. What are some of your upcoming projects?

My current and main project today is my new television show called Nini’s Diary. It is about inspiring people and places. It is a great challenge for me, a positive one of course. I have definitely stepped out of my comfort zone, because the show won’t be in my native – Georgian – language, but in English.

We had been shooting in Dubai and will continue to do so in later May. I’m glad that very soon, we will excite our viewers with many interesting news. As for the show itself – HD Fashion – it will air on an Ukrainian television channel.

11. Which is your favorite book and why?

One of my all time favorite books, for which I have a very deep love, is The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. It is my desk book. The fountainhead from the very first page to the very last can be read in one breathe.

I have found great wisdom in this book and think that it is a great teacher of life. To be honest, at some point in my life, I had been in love with the main character of this book for a long time.

The Fountainhead for me is a priceless treasure and to whoever hasn’t read it yet, you are in for yet unfelt happiness.
