1.Tell us more about your background and journey.

It's your boy Ri$ing Lgcy aka Big Silk. I’m originally from West Palm Beach, Florida; I come from a single-parent home, but my father was always in the picture! I didn’t grow up rich, and not quite poor! We struggled, but we have that hustler's mentality installed in us from an early age. I’ve seen it all bouncing from the urban hood areas to living in gated communities. My parents were both hard workers which their traits carried to me.

I was an active kid, always around sports. Before rapping I wanted to be a basketball player, I dedicated my life to hooping. I played my junior and senior year, after graduating high school I decided to join the army. Where I spent 5 years in active duty service. After I got out of the military, I wanted to become a firefighter so I went to firefighter school.

2. When did you first decide you wanted to pursue music and how did you start?

Well, I use to kind of rap in high school, I was garbage lol. But I didn’t care because it wasn’t for me. What revamped me to pursue music was a friend I knew from the army introduce me to studio life again. I met my now go-to producer Mileage, which helps mold my sound.

We start working together with heavy in Savannah, Ga where we both resided at the time. He got an internship in Atlanta and moved and just the courage and dedication of him following his dream made me do the same. Soooo I moved to Atlanta in the middle of the pandemic to pursue my music career.

3. Who is your favorite artist and why?

So I have two, Kanye and Drake. Music enemies, but I like their creative styles. Melodic flows with caption-worthy bars. Both artists aren’t afraid of showing emotions and their music is timeless. They are both icons, the reason why they are at the top of the game.

4. Can you throw some light on opportunities one gets as a singer?

Somethings I would say is it brings opportunities to be around different genres, I've come across different singers with amazing engineers that know the fundamentals of music. Which can enhance your sound. Plenty of networking and collaborations can happen.

5. Is format training required or can one train themselves purely on the basis of talent?

I would say it's a 50/50 thing. You need to know at least the fundamentals of anything you do. I’m a firm believer in talent as well. Somethings we are just gifted with.

6. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring artists?

Do your research about the music industry, the more knowledge you have the more of a value you can be. You want to be an asset on a team, not a liability. Come in with a brand, Be Marketable!

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

I would have to say the 48 Laws of Power. It helped mold my way of thinking. Gave me a better insight into life
