As we all know every locality has at least one best restaurant or food joint. One of my favorite food joints in East Delhi is ‘Namaste Foodcacy’ their chaap are just amazing they have a wide variety of momos too. In central Delhi my favourite restaurant is ‘Udupi Sai Sarovar’ in Lajpat Nagar, it is a family restaurant. Diggin Chanakya Puri is also amazing.

1. Please tell us about your background and journey.

Talking about my background, I’ve done BJMC from IP University. I was always into exploring food once I came to class 11th. I used to save my money only so that I can eat food, sounds funny but yes, it’s true!! It was only until I came in college and started @foodies_footsteps on Instagram.

This journey was a rollercoaster for me. Starting with mere 75 followers to 14.7k followers was just not easy. Initially, I just started it as a hobby, where I used to just post pictures videos of food I loved and would like to share it with my friends. But slowly when I started making friends from the food community, I understood what food blogging is actually and it's more than just posting pictures.

I was always ready to adopt changes, learn new trends and create content according to them. Posting pictures to actually going into the kitchen of the restaurants to shoot video was one of the best things. Interacting with the chef making them comfortable and sometimes asking a lot of questions. The journey has been great and I strongly believe the coming years would not just be great but a milestone to me!

2. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?

My favourite cuisine has to be Chinese no matter what! :P I mean I don’t remember a single restaurant where I went for dinner, lunch, snacks and I didn’t order Chinese. Even when I go to South Indian restaurants, I always check their menu beforehand that they have Chinese or not.

On my trips, I can simply survive without the regular food like Daal-Roti but I just cannot miss Chinese. My friends sometimes tease me saying that they are not going to pay the bill if I order Chinese food again. I know this is hilarious but my love for Chinese is something out of the world.

Talking about my favourite dish, it is the Chinese Chicken Biryani I had from a local van. It was really amazing and I never had something this new. When we talk about biryani all that comes to our mind is the Indian spice flavour but the Chinese Chicken biryani!! It was all in Chinese sauce and a completely new fusion to the dish.

3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

I think I would like to share here is when you make your passion a career, trust me you’ll do wonders! Because then you’ll give your 100% to what you are doing. One can definitely take food blogging as a career as there is way too much in food blogging than just posting pictures.

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

As we all know every locality has at least one best restaurant or food joint. One of my favourite food joints in East Delhi is ‘Namaste Foodcacy’ their chaap are just amazing they have a wide variety of momos too. In central Delhi my favourite restaurant is ‘Udupi Sai Sarovar’ in Lajpat Nagar, it is a family restaurant. Diggin Chanakya Puri is also amazing.

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

I believe any dish is not just appreciated or loved for its taste but a lot of factors also plays important role in the same. What if the food tastes amazing but is served to you on a dirty plate with the rude behaviour of the staff! I’ve been to a lot of restaurants, cafes, lounges but I am very very particular about what I am uploading on my page. For me a restaurant becomes good when the staff is polite and helpful, the ambiance of the restaurant is soothing and happy, they have good hygiene practice and yes, of course, the food!

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

Yes! I associate myself to golgappe!! Not because I look like one. But because of the fact that it has everything. You know it's Crispy, sweet, spicy, and can adapt itself to anything whether you eat it in the desi way or make chocolate golgappe or cheese golgape.

I believe I have this personality where I adopt changes happily and easily and try to do my best even then. I am sweet, that’s what my name is but I know when to take a stand for something that is wrong.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

My all-time favourite book is “Life is what you make it” by Preeti Shenoy. I just love that book and have read that book like 20 times! This book has very well expressed that life is exactly what we make it. How we treat things, people, emotion is how we are actually building our life. The book has also beautifully expressed how if we have the willpower to come back from any physical, mental breakdown or loss we can. It motivates the reader to never give up.
