Rashmikaa Santhosh - I Worked Hard On My Debut Film "Alt+Love", It Was An Wonderful Experience Working With Debut Director Vivek Rajaram (Indian Actress & Dancer)

Do what you want to do. And love yourself feel young every day.

1.Tell us more about your background and journey

Getting into the film industry was not much of a choice as I’m from a middle-class family, it was quite a tough decision for me. I started working with a YouTube channel learnt a pinch or two of acting and all about how cinema works and then moved on to working on quite a few different stories and did Acting courses alongside.

To concentrate on all these I had to quit my LAW college which was drastically a downfall to my family, especially my mom. As we had no support since my dad passed away when I was young. My mom took care of me did everything that made me happy and made sure I had everything and nothing to complain about. Later I worked on my debut film "Alt+Love" a film of debut director Vivek Rajaram. It was a different and wonderful experience for me. I learnt what to do and what not to do in Cinema. It is still a difficult and very tough game and my journey has just started so a lot more to learn and even more to experience.

2. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?

To become an actor or to become anything you love! First, have Hope. It is the best thing to start your career with! Have a positive aspect in anything you want to do or want to become and move forward. Acting or anything must have compassion•dedication•discipline and love. Make sure you have all this and start progressing on what you want to become. The confidence you show to prove your talent must not hurt others. If you’ve got all of it you can succeed in anything you want in life.

3. Who is your favourite dancer and why?

Prabhu Deva sir is my Favourite Dancer. The way he keeps himself up with his moves made me fall in love with him. Also every time I choreograph for any of my dance I make sure to look at all his choreography and his moves by the man himself. A few of my favourite choreographies by him are Kaasu Mela from Kaathala Kaathala, Chalmar and Kokka Makka from Devi also I love his Choreography in the movie ABCD. I love him for his simplicity mainly and for his moves.

4. What is your mantra of success?

My mantra of success would be “Love Yourself Do What You Love, Start Praying And Start Manifesting” I’ve been following this.

5. What piece of advice you would like to give to future and aspiring artist?

I’m not gonna give any advice but I’d tell them to make sure Do What You Want To Do. and Love Yourself Feel Young every day. Also, my mom often says that the one who gets angry easily will grow old fast in their looks so stay calm handle every issue with patience and this will make you look young and happy every day.

6. What is your favourite book and why?

I’m not a great fan of books but I read quite a lot of novels written by Indian authors. My favourite among them is Now That You're Rich by Durjoy Dutta. This book is so close to my heart because it says not everyone who has money is happy and money will not give you happiness but You with a satisfying life and your loved ones will. So this book contributed to creating a huge impact in my heart.

7. If not this, What would you be doing?

If not Acting I would have been pursuing law by now. I'd be that student that goes to college in formals, checking the timetable to know which class would be best for bunking that’d be me if I’m not an actor for sure.
