Walking out of a prison to another is the sort of story of every medical student in a hostel. The story only aggravates when it’s a medical girls hostel and even more when it’s a dental girls hostel. Such is the story of Richa, a sweet, bold, and hopeful fresher from Nagpur, who walks into the SVM dental college girls hostel in the hopes of a new liberating life. Only she was unaware what a great battle it would turn out to be.
On her first day along with her new friend Milli, a bubbly, chirpy, dramatic girl she comes across other girls in the hostel. And she is quite blown away to see the discrepancy among the girls.
Jo the college don is in an argument with the college queen Zahira over their personal stuff. And that’s where the hostel drama begins, with thievery being Richa’s first assignment.
The story is quite relatable with the four girls as the frontline warriors on the battlefield, who initially are at loggerheads but go on to support each other as they face challenges.
Petty fights over washrooms and water supply, stealth, cat-fights, college elections, bullying, harassment, and a couple of more such stuff, have been shown with utmost conviction. There is an instant connection with the story right from the beginning with the unique and fantastic performance of all the actors.

Dental Vs Medical

(Ramaya Mantri)
The show basically revolves around the theme of how dental college girls struggle to achieve even the basic amenities while medical students live luxurious life. This divide has been shown quite significantly initially through a tiff between Jo, Zahira, and Ramaya Mantri while their original war is unraveled later in the show.
However, the same war brings first all the four frontliners together and then the whole dental girls' hostel upstanding against sensitive and important matters such as bullying, harassment, males, water supply, exams, etc.
Jo and Zahira who from the very beginning comes across as the real villains of Richa and Milli’s hostel life, actually become their shield by the end of the series. The special part is that the seniors in the hostel even though dominating and bossy with their juniors leave no stone unturned to back them up.

Why this Show?

This funny-serious-emotional series by Girliyappa could easily become your binge-watch stuff during the lockdown. Even though this series is consolidated into two seasons of five episodes each, it also makes it an easy watch. Sensitive issues in the show that have been raised easily resolved at times, are given proper attention and don't deter your interest.
The best part of the show is its strong and charming cast. From Richa to Aarav and their cute romantic angle while the eye-catching Mili is unmissable. Then we have a savage and fiesty Jo with her rude but helpful nature, who has a world war going on with Zahira, a dazzling, vivacious, and strong girl running for the post of president.
Now with these lead characters, others weren’t boring too. The warden of the hostel was hilarious herself, with her rough demeanor but a helpful contribution to the girls. Aarav too is shown to be a smart and talented medical student who plays a significant role in the girl’s fight.
