If you have to choose- what will it be to go back in the future a couple of minutes back or see your entire future?. Well, those who chose the first one, you are in for a treat of a series and I definitely don't mean that those who chose second should get lost but rather wait, read this and watch the series, and watch me change your mind. Cause ‘Erased’ is a type of anime that is full of adventure, thrill, and fun.

Introduction

Web Series Name - Erased (Boku Dake ga Inai Machi)

Directed by - Tomohiko Ito

Genre - Mystery, Thriller, Science Fiction

Original Language - Japanese

The Revival

The story is based on a very interesting power - ‘The Revival’. In simpler terms, it goes back in time for one to five minutes. It only activates when something bad is about to happen, but you don't know what it is and when you go back, you have to go back and look for it.

Once activated, it cannot be used to alter the same event again, and only you know what happened, and what could have happened, and no one is the wiser.

Those of you familiar with the series ‘When they cry’ or ‘Re Zero’ will know of this going back in time. Although, there isn't a guarantee that if you die when you go back, you'll be revived or you can repeat his Revival for how many times, which makes it different from the other series and piques interest as to how to use the power to save everyone.

Season Review

The story begins with Satoru Fujinuma, a normal manga artist, who works part-time jobs too, going on a moped, when ‘The Revival’ hits him. He goes back in time to see a truck driver asleep and he saves a kid. When he reaches home, he sees his mother dead lying on the floor, and with cops outside.

At first, the revival doesn't hit him, but then it suddenly does, and he goes back 18 years back when he was in school. He then remembers that a girl named Kayo Hinazuki was abducted and killed. Satoru somehow figures that both these murders are connected, and to save his mother and prove his innocence, he must save Kayo.

The story is well-paced, with events going crazy from the very first episode. The mystery side is always maintained in the series. We also see how children are affected by parental abuse as we see kayo getting abused. The story has many sides, social issues addressed and is a great appetizer for everyone

Characters You Will love

Satoru Fujinuma - Satoru is the main character who has the power of revival. HE can go back in time to change the past and the future. He goes back in time to prevent a murder, and it's interesting to see an adult in a kid's body, with a race against time, he is an interesting character and really fights with his fate. He is voiced by Shinnosuke Mitsushima.

Kayo Hinazuki - She is a middle school student who was abducted and murder 18 years ago. But as Satoru goes back in time, we know more about her as to how kind she is, how scared and scared she is from the violence of her mother, and how she is having her own fight beyond escaping her death. She is voiced by Aoi Yuuki.

The Bottom Line

So, Erased is what you call a stick of dynamite in a small package. It has only 12 episodes, but the animation story is on point. We see the MC literally erasing his reality and writing a new one. The end has always come under attack, and you might feel Satoru deserved better. But that's the beauty, showing what life is, and not just some fantasy. You can stream it on Crunchyroll.
