1. Tell us more about your company and your journey.
I started my label Youngberry at the age of 18 with lots of dreams and passion to mark my identity in the field of fashion. It’s now been a journey of 10 beautiful years where I’ve learnt so much and have grown immensely.
I started with only one outfit which was designed for my 18th birthday and no investment at all. From that one dress, we started getting orders and slowly and steadily started gaining popularity among the youth.
We can proudly say that we’ve spread our roots in several counties now, after doing a successful exhibition and fashion shows we’ve even been featured in several blogs, newspapers and magazines including Vogue.
2. How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?
I had decided that I wanted to be a designer at a very young age and knew what I wanted to do. Hence when I completed my schooling I wanted to have a degree in the same field but somehow ended up pursuing commerce.
My mom encouraged me to give it a try and follow my passion. Hence I started designing and thought of a name for my label. We started with western wear like dresses, jumpsuits etc.
Since no one in my town was custom making western wear at that time. We took the help of social media and made a Facebook ad page for Youngberry and started sharing our designs.
Hence without any infrastructure, we started getting orders and slowly started growing.

7. How can one overcome a hurdle of lack of funds when starting up?
One really good way is to have investors on board and if you’re facing a problem with that. Don’t worry and start where you are and what you have.
Then keep investing from your revenue. It’s a slow process but works well.
