Sakshu Singh - Why Would Anyone Watch Something Poles Apart Like ‘ShukranAllah’ Playing In The Background When Otis & Maeve Meets? (Influencer, India)

Be grateful. By just doing that you might be able to surpass so many difficulties.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I'm a Social Media Manager & a Brand Consultant. I've studied law with a specialization in International Law. Whether in school life and then college & job, social media has always been constant. Apart from that my interests lie in writing and hoarding silver jewellery.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

SukooonGhar is simply what its name suggests, a peaceful/calming place for anyone and everyone who seeks it. I started this page long back in college (2016) & it was initially a writing page but it was not until 2019 that I realized that my specific thoughts about cinema & background scores resonated with people. I always thought that the scenarios in my head won't make sense to the world.

Why would anyone watch something poles apart like ‘ShukranAllah’ playing in the background when Otis & Maeve meets? But apparently, a lot of people did & it still feels unreal to me that about 60,000 people have decided to stay here.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

Well blogger is the parent and influencer is the child in this relationship. The world of Internet got first accustomed to the bloggers because Wordpress & Blogspot were the hype then.

But since the Instagram & Snapchat came into being, people realised the value of storytelling and sharing their lives with some random people. The world of entertainment changed after that. Now everyone wants to be an Instagram influencer!

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

Definitely! But like every job, it comes with a certain experience & numbers. Whether it is in years or followers. I know so many influencers who have bought their parents a whole damn house while maintaining their lifestyle.

5. What do you think influences consumer behavior?

Relatability for sure. If you can make a consumer relate with your experiences, you have done it! A successful sponsored content is an art.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

Be grateful. By just doing that you might be able to surpass so many difficulties.

7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

Find your niche. Then find your audience. Be consistent.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

Definitely Looking For Alaska by John Green. The way it smoothly travels from Before Alaska to After Alaska is sheer form of art along every character having development.
