Zoha - I Started Traveling And It Became A Travel Page And My Therapy Became My Passion And Now Profession Too (Travel Blogger, India)

I believed in sharing my experiences very honestly and I think people could connect to it. I shared everytime a mishap occurred, or when I was low or in problem. I showed them the reality of traveling rather than just happy pictures

1. Tell us about your upbringing & journey.

I grew up in a middle class muslim family of Gorakhpur, Uttar pradesh. Since childhood, I’ve been the naughtiest kid in the neighbourhood and everybody used to be quit concerned about my career because I was always wandering, playing and honestly living my best life.

I was always keen on knowing about things, reading and learning through television. I remember planning a solo trip in grade 4th inspired by the TV show Eatstreet.

I wanted to go for a cruise course but my parents didn’t allow back then so I went forward to pursuing a law degree. In my second year, things worsened and I found myself diagnosed with multiple mental health issues and all I knew was that traveling was the cure.

2. When did you start traveling and how did you decide to start your Instagram page?

My page started back in 2018. 18th August to be specific. I never knew about the blogging world. Not even when I started. My therapist asked me a question when I was going through hard times that what would be the 3 things that I’d want to live for!

My answer was To travel, click pictures and to write. She was the one who showed me the page “ bruisedpassports” and suggested me to start the page as a therapy.

I was told to click something everyday and write out my thoughts. Sooner I started traveling and it became a travel page and my therapy became my passion and now profession too.

The roads are calling. Book your trip today and avail the best services on your outstation cabs with Savaari - expert driver, sanitized car and unmatched comfort in 2000+ cities in India.

3. What are the best road trips have you taken across the country?

There are a few but The road trip from Guwahati to Nagaland was absolutely epic, adventurous and offbeat. I felt as if I’ve set my foot in a whole different country.

4. What do you think made your content popular?

I believed in sharing my experiences very honestly and I think people could connect to it. I shared everytime a mishap occurred, or when I was low or in problem.

I showed them the reality of traveling rather than just happy pictures. Later, I also started helping them through my experiences by making budget friendly travel guides.

5. Which is your favourite travel destination in India and the world?

I haven’t got the chance to visit outside India because 2 years and 9 countries was the plan but couldn’t because of covid. I’ve been to various parts of India but I can’t name just one place.

Himachal feels homely, Nagaland is too close to my heart, Udaipur is also very special so I’d say all the places have a different vibe and feeling connected to it so it’s hard to choose one.

6. Are you someone who likes to take control of the wheel or stay back whilst enjoying the scenic vistas?

I’m both. Somedays I like to ride and other days I just wanna relax. I travel through public transport mostly so most of the time I’m the latter.

Book your trip with Savaari. Safe, sanitized and affordable one-way and roundtrip cabs starting at Rs 9/km.

7. How can travelers in India boost local tourism and help uplift the hospitality industry?

The main essence of traveling is to know it locally. Staying at home stays, eating local, spreading knowledge about it and educating people on how to do it sustainabily can be a way. We are not only enjoying but helping people as well as nature. Try avoiding staying at big hotels etc.
