Tell us about your background, journey & story. Why did you start this company?

Geetica Srivastava - Co-founder & CMO - NUOS Home Automation

I am a B.Com Graduate from Lucknow University and an MBA Graduate from NDIM, New Delhi. Graduate from Goldman Sachs 10K Women Entrepreneurs Program in partnership with IIM Bangalore.

10 years of experience in Marketing, Partnership & Business Expansion - having worked for Fortune 500 companies to Startups to becoming a Co-founder of a Startup and scaling NUOS Home Automation big during Covid.

I would call myself Results-driven, skilled at pro-actively participating in all aspects of business development and management from marketing to finance to human resources.

I started working for Microsoft Windows Phone launched in India and later moved to McCann Erickson where I was handling Google and Philips. Post that I was Core Team Member for a startup GoPigeon which got acquired by Narvar Inc, US based company. Worked with Bajaj Electricals leading Digital & Channel Team reporting to President & skip level MD.

After Bajaj I joined NUOS (NUOS Home Automation is my husband's company - Neil Savant). Joining NUOS was the best decision for me, Neil & NUOS as I come from electrical segment marketing and business background and this is now helping us grow our company faster. Neil is an engineer who creates amazing products and I do the business & partnership part. Since I have joined NUOS Home Automation, there has been no looking back.

What are some of the biggest challenges & failures you have faced in your career?

I have always taken time to decide what job I want and which company is best for it. I can say I have been blessed to get what I wanted in my job.

Few challenges I can recall during my job time would be company cultures and internal politics. But for that as well i would say, one should focus on working towards their goal and be determined to what they want and these things go by.


What are some of the factors that made you successful?

Since I was a kid, I wanted to do something big for myself, family and people around. I kept myself Focused and worked with full Zeal to be in the position I am.

My career remained my priority and I worked hard and smart to achieve my goals.

I have always told myself and worked with this belief - Never give up, this is your journey and you only can make it big.


Marketing has changed a lot over the decade, what do you think will be the future of marketing?

Future of marketing is all Digital. Social media platforms, OTT, Online activities and engagement will be the driving platforms. Brands will have to focus on below the most -

• Consumer and their desires via Engagement, Experience, Exclusivity and Emotion
• Data analysis & Artificial intelligence will drive the strategy
• Focus on direct 1-1 relationship
• Influencer marketing will help in quicker decision making

What is the most important skill set required for someone who wants to rise in their career?

I personally feel people management skill is the key to success and rise in your career. If you are able to manage people, there is no stopping for you. You can manage your employees, teams, customers, vendors, investors, anyone, you will also grow along with your company.

What does your typical day look like?

My morning starts with planning my day and activities with my partner followed by exercise. Post this I get ready for office/meetings. Being on the business side, I am mostly out for meetings. In between calls with teams and follow ups on activities planned. My husband being my business partner as well, work discussion and planning never stops. Our day starts with work and ends with satisfaction.


Which is your favourite book & why?

I prefer autobiographies more as they give you motivation and inspire you to go ahead and build a better world. Some of the most loved books are The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life, Steve Jobs’ by Walter Isaacson, The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon’ by Brad Stone.
