I personally believe medical college doesn't matter, not the degree, be it MS, MD or diploma or DNB. It's just the dedication and your working skills which decide your career.
Tell us about your upbringing, background and journey?
I have grown up in a small family who used to live in Delhi, Laxmi Nagar then shifted to Faridabad, Haryana. We had a small family of 6 members who used to have a great bond. We initially shifted from Amritsar to Delhi in a whole new city with the idea of building a new success story here.
So from Delhi, my dad had to shift to Faridabad as mom was working here plus we have a pharmaceutical here in Faridabad so it was not possible to daily travel 50 km. So finally, we shifted to Faridabad and I was born here in this city.
Why did you choose to be a doctor and decide what you specifically want to do?
I was born in a family that was in the medical stream. During the earlier days, I used to play cricket a lot and have represented at many good levels but that couldn't be continued as my passion was getting more into the medical field. Dad being a bams doctor and mother who was OT in charge helped me in my initial days to study and to make me understand the medical branch.
Finally, after 12th I joined my MBBS (2008). It was tough to stay away from home initially but eventually, I got used to it. kept on working hard and cleared MBBS IN 2013. Soon after my internship I joined as a junior resident in metro hospital Faridabad and was working there in a surgical ICU for two consecutive years.
After this, I joined for my MS DEGREE in orthopaedics as I was loving the branch and was very curious to learn more about the field in terms of anatomy and functional activities.
We salute your work during the pandemic, where did you get the inspiration to work so hard?
During the initial days of the pandemic, I was working with MAX hospital, Saket, Delhi. The hospital was flooded with covid patients everywhere and we were not getting ortho patients yet we had to serve in the hospital by looking after the wards.
It was very scary and yet very satisfying to help the people at the same time. I got infected but after that again I worked. The reason behind this was my parents were covid positive too and I knew that we have responsibilities to help people and serve our duties.
How do you expect digital health to grow over the next 5 years?
What I personally believe is digital health will surely have A GREAT BOOM IN FUTURE. After 5 years I'm sure that the digital health sector will have a great and bright future.
Digital health is the platform through which many influencers will reach the audience and have a great impact on them via their knowledge. It can help doctors or any influencer to actually reach a wide range of populations. Social media along with these can be of great help and have a wide range of audiences.
What are your concerns about Digital Health?
So, what I think is people in India are still not that educated who can use the digital health sector.
They lack the information plus they prefer visiting doctors rather than virtual interaction or booking slots. This thing is still lacking and we need to educate people. How digital marketing can help them in order to access great health benefits on time and with priority.
Can you let us know any one application of Digital Health in your country which has impressed you?
The app which I know personally and has helped many of my friends are:- practo, google business.
What is your message for aspiring doctors and the young generation? Which is the best medical college according to you?
The message which I want to give to the young population is that they should really work hard during their MBBS(graduations) and post-graduation time as a very bright future is waiting ahead, be it anything they will surely make it.
I personally believe medical college doesn't matter, not the degree, be it MS, MD or diploma or DNB. It's just the dedication and your working skills which decide your career. Keep yourself motivated too along with this by doing your passion along with your work, be it your fitness, musical skills, dancing skills or anything. keep hustling and keep doing. I personally believe all-rounders are much appreciated and keep your work as a priority.
What does your typical day look like and what do you like to do besides work?
As I just said, I am the kind of person who loves to work. I have full dedication to my patients. Everybody has 24 hours in a day. I handle hospitals during the daytime, then have time to workout, see patients in private clinics too and daily try to study at least 1 hour a day.
I am working hard on my social media platforms, youtube channel and trying to update my knowledge by attending cme's too. So, life is short, live it with full dedication, keep working hard. I started as a normal guy I know still managing to do my passion and trying to motivate many people around me.
