The challenge I face sometimes in this industry is Proper Reach (Likes, Comments, Share). Sometimes we don't get that likes quantity that we actually expect. When we make any reel it takes lots of time and patience in editing and if it doesn't get proper reach and get minimum plays omg! It really hurts man. But I don't lose my motivation and keep working.
Tell us about your upbringing, background, and journey.
Hello, My name is Debesh Paul, I'm an Instagram Food Blogger and my IG Handle is @debesh66.official. By profession, I am a Student. Currently, I am pursuing B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE, 1st Year) at Siliguri Institute of Technology. I am from Siliguri, West Bengal and I'm 17 years old.
6-7 months ago from today, I didn't know what is called Food Blogging I didn't even know how to use Instagram properly. I used to see everyone uploading pictures of food and think how cool they are, how they have thousands of followers.
My Instagram account (@debesh66.official) was created in 2019 and it used to be my personal account. And to be honest, I doubt if I would open it once in 2-3 months. My Food Blogging journey is totally unplanned, I never thought that I'll become a food blogger. Even my username is not food-related as I already mentioned that this was unplanned. As I belong to Foodie Family I get lots of content. I don't go so much to restaurants, I'm still stuck into homemade foods. Because I believe "Ghar ka Khana is Ghar ka khana".
My hobby is taking pictures of something it can be food or nature related, yeah I love photography. I can cook a little bit, with help of my Mom and Sister. It is better to say My Mom and My sister help me a lot. Their support made my journey more successful. No one believes that's I'm only 17 years old. They literally get surprised when they came to know my real age. They get shocked that how can a 17 years old guy do all these things.
When did you start blogging?
In the month of June 2021, I started uploading food pictures and it was the starting of my Food Blogging Journey. I didn't have any basic idea about editing, hashtags, caption, etc. I just used to click a normal picture and upload it no editing, watermark. I'm still not a Mr. Perfect today, learning day by day for better. People started loving my content, getting more and more supports day by day across the whole of India. I have lots of supporters from Kolkata, Durgapur, Odisha, etc.
What type of content do you enjoy creating more - lifestyle, food, or travel-related?
I love creating content regarding Food and Lifestyle related.
What have been the biggest challenges you have faced in this industry?
The challenge I face sometimes in this industry is Proper Reach (Likes, Comments, Share). Sometimes we don't get that likes quantity that we actually expect. When we make any reel it takes lots of time and patience in editing and if it doesn't get proper reach and get minimum plays omg! It really hurts man. But I don't lose my motivation and keep working.
What does your typical day look like?
The study, Social Media, Blogging mixing all these my day passes. I don't have any time schedule for anything. Whenever and whatever I want I just do it without caring anything. Yeah sometimes am serious about my studies as I'm studying engineering and as well as being a good food blogger, I also need to be a good engineer. I always support that we should follow our passion, whatever you like you just do but besides it, we should continue and complete our studies.
Which is your favorite dessert & what makes you appreciate it?
If you ask me what's my favorite dish my answer would be always Chicken Biriyani and Chicken Rezala, Better to say I'm a die heart chicken lover. And in the case of the desert, I would say Sweet Curd/Mitha Dahi or in Bengali, it's called "Mishti Doi" yeah Mishti Doi is my most favorite dessert. Nothing can its place. According to me, a heavy meal is incomplete without Mishti Doi/Mitha Dahi, it's necessary after the meal.
Which is your favorite movie/show?
I used to be a movie and music freak guy. I love to watch movies, especially horror, thrill-suspense type. I used to be a wrestling fan also. WWE, WWF, TNA, Impact every time I used to watch them. But my most favorite 2 movies are '3 Idiots' and 'Chhichhore', these are like two gems of Bollywood. I've seen them about 500+ times. And I love to listen to songs. Nowadays due to study pressure and Blogging, I don't get time to watch movies.
