For a City that never sleeps, it surely has some adventure as soon as the sun
sets in.
Aarey Milk Colony,
Goregaon
Probably the most common and outspoken haunted places in
Mumbai is the Aarey Milk Colony. This stretch of land in Goregaon is sure to bring
all the chills down your spine. However, if you are in for an adventure, be
prepared for some of the most unusual events ever.
It begins from a white sari woman to a disappearing old man.
Many people believe that an old woman in a white sari is often seen on the
road. In recent news, there was a viral reel on Instagram where two men on the
scooter recorded an incident similar to this. The location of the place remains
unknown.
Other rumours about the spooky colony stretch is when a
young girl, who is dressed in civil clothes is believed to be asking for a
lift. She then initiates a conversation about death, spirits and other paranormal
activities. What remains a mystery is how she disappears into thin air as soon
as she is dropped at her desired location. So who’s up for a midnight drive at
Aarey?
Mukesh Mills, Colaba
“Humari filmo ki tarah, humare zindagi mein bhi end tak sab
theek hi ho jata hai. Aur agar theek na ho to voh end nahi hai”. As mentioned
by Om Kapoor in the movie Om Shanti Om, this probably remains true for Mukesh
Mills in Colaba.
In 1982, an unfortunate fire in Mukesh Mills led to
thousands of the mill workers being burnt alive. Several stories have been
narrated by passer-by’s of loud screaming and crying sounds. After the fire
burnt the mill down, it became a popular hotspot for film shoots including
Wanted, Om Shanti Om, Heropanti, Luka Chuppi.
The actors of these films have expressed the eerie situation
during shoots and Bipasha Basu even mentioned that she thought someone was
prompting her dialogues. In another story, there were rumours of an actor
claimed to be possessed by one of the spirits.
Bombay High Court,
Fort
Kya kanoon ke haath sahi mein lambe hote hai? Well those who
have heart the spirit at Bombay High Court will disagree. Whenever there is a
murder trial, the corridors of the Court reek of a peculiar sound, the sound of
a spirit who was wrongly accused of murder or a lawyer who loves his job too
much?
It’s been over 30 years that there have been stories about a
particular spirit haunting those who are accused of murder. It talks in a
hoarse voice and curses the convict leaving them flabbergasted for the rest of
the trial.
Pawan Hans, Juhu
After a beautiful sunset overlooking the Juhu beach, the
pilots and staff at Pawan Hans make a move as soon as possible. What is the
reason for their fear? Well, it is the screams of a girl who has set herself ablaze
and seen running around the perimeter.
In 1989, a 20 year old Salma set herself on fire at that
location, the reason for which remains unknown. The guards and onlookers have
often seen a girl running into the peepal tree and disappearing. To ward off
the spirits, a Hanuman Temple was built in the premises but this has not
prevented the spirit from haunting those present on a dark night.
Vrindhavan Society,
Thane
Can a ghost slap you into your senses? According to the
night guards at Vrindhavan society in Thane, this is definitely possible. The residents
of the society are highly ambiguous about the stories but it is believed that a
man who once committed suicide haunts the society premises almost every night.
The watchmen of the society were shocked to believe this paranormal
activity but were assertive when they were of the belief that a spirit slaps
them every time they fall asleep on duty? Many residents have also experienced
eerie peculiar sounds and activities during the night.
From a ghost who talks about ghosts to a spirit who slaps
the night guards, there have been peculiar events in the city that never
sleeps. There is an uncertainty to all paranormal events. The white sari lady
could just be light reflected from a lamppost and the slap may just be a dream.
While it is important to enjoy the perks of being alive, it
is also essential to remember that life is a gift. A single wrong choice can
lead to deathly consequences. So let’s choose our beliefs wisely and make no
decisions in haste.
