The main purpose of speaking is to utilize one’s words and voice for channeling one’s inner depths and thoughts in an effective as well as impactful manner.
1. Tell us more about what you do and what led you to speak on this platform.
I work as a Global Youth Mentor and an International Public Speaker, having delivered 6 TED Talks and 3 Josh Talks, delivering talks and sessions on various topics around the world, and having started my journey at the age of 16 a few years back.
I focus on topics such as self-analysis, introspection, personality development, finding one’s passions and direction in life, and also creative topics such as the art of storytelling, writing a book, and building your communication skills, to name a few. I started my global public speaking journey after I was invited to deliver my first TED talk on the world-renowned platform TEDx back in 2019 when I was just 16 years old.
Since then, I’ve identified my passion for channeling my words and my voice for creating a global impact and for the greater good; I address and mentor audiences around the world, and have been invited to platforms where I’ve addressed the audiences from regions like the United States Of America, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameron, Philippines, Canada, and the list goes on. 2. How do you choose and prepare for a talk?
When it comes to choosing what to speak about in a talk — the topic, basically — I focus on the following two things as a priority. Firstly, the topic has to be about something that genuinely resonates with me. Secondly, it also has to be something that is meaningful and would actually illuminate something worthwhile for the listeners in the audience.
With the same ideology, I’ve been invited to deliver multiple talks on the platform of TEDx ranging from overthinking to why the youth is the torchbearer of the world’s global future. When it comes to the preparation aspect of the talk, I make sure to brief out the content that I’m to deliver in the form of small pointers, rather than cramming up the entire script.
3. Tell us a little bit about your latest #1 Bestselling Book, "Blisters Of The Battle". How did the inspiration to write it come to you?
Recently, I have authored my latest book titled “Blisters Of The Battle”, which has ranked #1 on the Amazon Bestsellers charts in various categories shortly after its release. This novella of mine, which is a Mystery-Thriller fiction, is a reflection as well as a depiction of the topic of battles and warfare, as we see it unfolding in the present day world and as we have seen it time and again in our global history as well.
The focus is on the commoners who suffer the most in such dire situations, as I consider this book of mine to be a tribute to the warriors and unsung civilians of such battles.
Before authoring this book, I started my literary journey when I was just 16 years old back in 2018. That is when I authored my debut novel, “A Celebration In Tribulation” which has received many awards, acclaim, and appreciation from around the world that I am genuinely very humbled and grateful for.
After that, I’d authored “PANDEMIC 2020 - Rife Of The Virus” — the world’s first fiction novel on the COVID19 outbreak for which I have set international records at the India Book Of Records and the Asia Book Of Records for being the youngest author to write a fiction novel on the coronavirus outbreak. 3. How can one become a public speaker?
In order to become a public speaker, the following are the basic necessities in my view :
- Have a clear understanding of your speciality and what exactly you’ll be speaking about that the audience would want to listen to.
- Know your U.S.P, which refers to your Unique Selling Point
- Focus on improving your proficiency and command of the language in which you wish to speak as well.
4. You are an Award-Winning Writer and an International Speaker. Are these two fields similar to one another?
Yes, absolutely. The main purpose of writing, as well as speaking, is to utilize one’s words and voice for channeling one’s inner depths and thoughts in an effective as well as impactful manner. There are people who find more comfort in writing, while there are others who find it more fun to speak publicly to do the same.
I, personally, find a deep-rooted attachment and passion for both — writing and speaking. So, yes. Beyond similarity, both of these fields are connected with one another as well.
5. Can motivational speaking become a full-time career?
It certainly can, and we have living examples of so many such individuals who are pursuing it in that way. Like I mentioned earlier, it is about finding one’s own specialty, what one would like to (and genuinely can) speak about, and identifying that U.S.P to stand out from the crowd.
In today’s world, most people are indeed in search of motivation and guidance in their life, which is why it becomes even more important in that sense.
6. Which is your favorite talk ever and how did it change your life?
In many of my interviews, I am asked, “Who is your inspiration?” Or “What is the most inspiring Talk/Book in your view?”
My answer, however, always remains to be the same. I seek knowledge, guidance, and inspiration from every single interaction I have with someone or every video that I watch, or every piece of writing that I read. I cannot possibly pinpoint a specific one in that sense.
For me, it is about having that innate curiosity — a will to learn from and be inspired by anything and everything that is positive. I know, this sounds like quite a diplomatic answer, but that’s what I must say. I would, however, ask you — which one of my Talks is your favorite one? Haha!
7. What are the best public speaking tips that have worked for you?
There are a few. The ones I always suggest to the newcomers in the field of speaking are —
- One, always formulate your content properly before you speak.
- Two, always speak clearly. That clarity is far more important than a pretentious accent.
- And Three, even if you’re speaking about a topic or sharing content that might have been spoken millions of times in the past, your unique approach towards it and the creative touch with which you speak it all is what grabs the attention of the audience.
