If you were to ask a native of Delhi what two things stand out to them about their city, the answers you would get would be the city's extensive history and the city's delectable cuisine. Now, I have to confess that reading this blog completely threw you for a loop. It's not easy being born in a city that provides such a vast array of culinary options; on top of that, I'm Punjabi, and boy, do we enjoy our food! The city of Delhi is a melting pot of many different cultures and races, each of which contributes to the city's diverse range of culinary options. A wide variety of mouthwatering treats can be found all over Delhi, from Chandni Chowk to Majnu ka Tilla. Therefore, without further ado, I give you my list of the top 5 well-known dishes that can be found in Delhi.

Eating on the streets of Delhi is like getting an accelerated education in the history and culture of the area due to the unparalleled variety of foods available. Although no guide book can pinpoint the best places for chaat, there are some landmark food haunts that really stand out. Chandni Chowk is without a doubt the Street Food Capital of Delhi. Of course, if you aren't willing to travel quite that far, you shouldn't worry too much because Delhi is home to a large number of different options for street food.
