1. Please tell us something about your early days & career story?
My career-oriented journey began in the year 2006 and since then I have never looked back. I have more than 15 years of experience in this ever-so-booming software industry. After working with the stalwarts of the industry such as Tech Mahindra, IBM, and Tata Communications, and doing MBA in software project management, I decided to start a company of my own where I can deliver IT-related services to the people, that is how ZIONIT came into the picture.
2. What’s your biggest challenge when it comes to people management?
The biggest challenge in managing people is that sometimes you have to bear with their personal and technical problems as well. As a leader myself, and being an experienced candidate I understand that sometimes life can get rough, not every-time things are under your control and so I am very cool about my employees being completely honest with me. I believe all employees should be treated like family members because the stronger the bond of the team? the better the team performs.
3. What is the best and the worst part of being a CEO?
The best and the worst part about being a CEO is the same, all eyes are on you. Whenever something good happens, bad happens everyone looks for me. I am the first one to know anything important in my organization. I have to handle clients, attend meetings with my employees regularly, keep everything steady, and lead from the front. But I take it as a fun routine, I am used to such challenges now, the only thing I sometimes hate about being in the center of everything is that I don't get to spend time with myself and my family.
4. Describe a time when two team leaders or executives had a conflict. How did you handle the situation?
Well, I don't remember any in particular but in such scenarios, I like to keep my cool, understand both sides of the story and then come up with a conclusion or a solution. I try to be as neutral as possible, I don't fancy any employee or have any favorite employee, all are one, and all are equally very important to me, and that is what I often tell them as a team? we need to keep our grudges aside and work together for a better tomorrow.
5. What would you do in your first 30 days as CEO of our organization?
Well, I have always believed that if you have no plan, that is also not bad, sometimes things work out on their own but in this case, I'll go with knowing my subordinates and colleagues in a better way. Functioning together is important and so the bonding should be transparent and honest. The first 30 days you find the right rhythm and then play the music loud and clear!
6. Tell Me About a Past Project That You’re Proud Of?
Although I am proud of every project of mine, I feel a special connection with MyDcshool because that is a way for me to thank the education I received during my schooling times. I have always felt that education should reach the common people without any struggle. During covid times we shifted MyDschool to an online school ERP platform. And we are not done yet, we are always thinking one step ahead and now we are planning to conduct various scholarship campaigns and stuff like that so that more and more students get better life opportunities.
7. Which is your favorite book and why?
Recently I became a huge fan of Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. I read his book Deception Point recently and it thrilled me. It has the classic Dan Brown twists and turns that will keep you guessing the plot of the story. A good read indeed!
