1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I am a qualified computer engineer and I am also a professional actor. I have been doing Marathi theatre for the past six years now and I started my food journey, this foodie actor engineer journey in the year 2018, and now it has been over five years. And well, this journey started out of nowhere. It was just out of sheer love for food that I started this page. I was a foodie, I was acting, and a qualified engineer. Hence foodie, actor, and engineer.
2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?
So in the year 2018, my sister's friend had started his Instagram page where he was posting pictures of food dishes from restaurants and I always wanted to kind of do that because I was a huge foodie. I used to shoot pictures and videos but I never thought of doing something out of it. And that is when I asked him and he recommended me Why don't you start an Instagram page? Where you know, you can post about food, pictures, the dishes and write about them.
So that is how I started my Instagram page Foodie Actor, Engineer. Initially, it was only about food, but later on, I also started doing travel collaborations, and a lot of lifestyle collaborations wherein I collaborated with a lot of brands. So now the page Foodie Actor Engineer is all about Food, travel, and lifestyle.
3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from influencer?
the terms Blogger and influencer are very different. In the industry, everyone calls his food bloggers. But actually, we are not food bloggers, we are food influencers. A Blogger is a person who writes blogs. He has his own specific blog where he writes about it.
We do not write A blog we Create content, and we post it on Instagram. So basically we advertise or influence people by posting about food dishes from a specific restaurant or from a brand and hence we are called influencers and not bloggers.
4. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?
My idea of success is very simple. I just want to live a fully filled happy larger-than-life experience wherein I would like to travel the whole world.
I would like to try food dishes from different parts of the world and also have a little fame wherein. People know me, they recognize me whenever I am out there on the streets. So that is what I feel is my idea of success. And my mantra in life is to, I think, just live a larger-than-life experience.
5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?
I am a huge, huge foodie and I love food like anything. So that is what inspires me to go out there, try different varieties of cuisines, different food dishes, and also make people aware that, you know, there is this kind of food that is available in restaurants and hotels wherein foodies like me who like to. Visit different hotels, different places and try those dishes.
That is what really inspires me to, you know, create a lot of content so that my audience is always my audience, always gets something new and something different. That is what inspires me.
6. Is content creation a financially sustainable career?
Well, when you ask if content creation of financially sustainable career, Yes, of course in the beginning it isn't, It's a process. But now when I see, when I am more than five years down the line, now in the initial phase, I had never imagined that you know, I would be able to sustain myself financially by just creating content. But today? I can 100% say that yes, I am able to financially sustain myself and actually I'm able to do more than it.
I'm able to visit different places, try different food dishes, and promote them on my page and I also get paid for them. So I don't think there might be any better thing that I'm I can do in my life.
7. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?
For me, I like a food dish when it is authentic, I mean for me it has to be very simple and authentic. There should not be too much going on there. If it has particular ingredients, it should not be like a mess, it should be very particular. A single ingredient should be the hero of that dish. And when I I'll, I come about such dishes. I really appreciate them.
And when it comes to restaurants, in restaurants, I just feel those basic things were in the hospitality, the ambiance, the service, the hygiene, the cleanliness. These are the factors that I always look for in a restaurant.
8. What piece of advice you would like to give to future and aspiring creators?
A piece of advice that I would like to give to future and aspiring creators is that always focus on what you're doing. I mean don't do anything for the sake of it. Don't do something just to gain fame or you know just for that two-second fame or make something viral.
Always put your heart. In making the content, creating the content, putting in all the effort, and doing it with sheer love for that thing. Whatever. It may be food. It may be travel. It may be comedy, it may be dance. Stay genuine, Stay authentic to your content and justice. Keep working hard. Do not think about the future just initially. Just keep working hard and trust me. Things will fall in place, slow and steady, and you'll definitely reach your goal and you'll definitely see success in your life.
