Fat loss isn't just about calories, it's about building a fortress of muscle

1. Tell us more about yourself and your profession.

I am Aman Bisht, and I am from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, by profession I am a fitness and nutrition consultant and professional calisthenics coach. I am 3 times the calisthenics national champion of India and also represented India in the World Cup in 2023 at Itlay, i am also an influencer, and got an award from NDTV for “national talent hunt”. I do add shoots and work on some music videos as well.

2. What is your fitness mantra?

Fitness mantra - so I believe to keep my body fit, I am a calisthenics expert so I do bodyweight training only, my mantra is “ instead of using machines in the gym, make your body a machine at home”

“You have to be consistent if you want to achieve anything you want “

3. What are some of the major misconceptions about diets and exercise?

So people just workout and thing they will be fit or they will just take care of their diet and expect to be fit … see, you have to follow a diet to keep your immune system and organs fit, and you have to do physical exercises as well which will make you stronger, faster and better. You have to take care of both sides.

4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle?

A person has to make a healthy routine which includes maintaining a nutritious diet, engaging in regular physical activity, ensuring sufficient sleep, and managing stress.

One has to maintain all these things together for a healthy lifestyle. ( Remember: rest is also important)

5. How can one build a successful career in your field?

In the field of calisthenics, one can be a judge, trainer, influencer, fitness coach, or consultant…..( in the near future calisthenics may come in the Olympics, so it will get wider)

6. What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to lose weight?

Certainly, weight loss is a multifaceted journey that extends beyond calorie deficit. In addition to consuming fewer calories than the body expends, incorporating resistance training is crucial. Resistance training not only helps preserve lean muscle mass but also boosts metabolism, aiding in more effective fat loss.

Prioritize overall well-being, including adequate sleep, stress management, and hydration, to support your body's transformation.

7. How do diets and exercise contribute to overall well-being and happiness?

So first diet - if one is taking a proper diet (includes macros and micros), his/her immune system will be stronger and will get less chance to get sick, which will keep him/her motivated and consistent towards his/her training
Secondly, training - training keeps your mobility, stamina, endurance, strength, power, and reflexes strong so that you are always confident and happy.
