1. Could you share about your background and journey?
Hello! I'm Raghav, but you can call me RJ Raghav. So, my radio journey kicked off in 2009 with a very outgoing audition, leading me on a 13-year adventure as an RJ. Throughout these years, I've had incredible opportunities to collaborate with various radio stations across different cities, connecting with multiple audiences and working with talented people who share my passion. Beyond the mic, I've had the privilege to work on big stages, adding a dash of storytelling and entertainment to these events. But I never wanted to stop at radio, so I decided to try creating content! Fast forward to today, it's been a thrilling journey filled with moments that have shaped my content and allowed me to evolve as a content creator and entertainer. I'm excited to continue this journey, exploring new ideas and connecting with people!
2. What made you realize that you want to create content?
Honestly, I knew I wanted to create content when I started with these short videos, just vibing to the music. Some of these videos started resonating with viewers, spreading like wildfire and bringing a huge amount of love and support from my followers. Experiencing this overwhelming response became a turning point for me. That was when I realized how much content creation can make a difference. The love I received became a guiding force for me!
3. What strategies do you use to create compelling content that resonates with a diverse audience?
The world of content creation has been a real journey of discovery for me. Making sure concepts are super clear has been really important for me when I create content. It helps me make content that grabs people's attention and keeps them interested. Back in my early days, teaming up with brands was like magic. These collaborations not only added value to my content but also expanded its reach, tapping into different audiences. I'm a firm believer in the power of cinematic storytelling. Collaborating with fellow content creators and actors has added more to my work. Moreover, the unexpected virality of my singing videos during my initial days was a game-changer for me. This organic reach taught me how important it is to stay true to my interests and do what I love.
4. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?
I am not successful just yet. I see it as taking one step at a time, always moving a bit further than where I started. I feel like my vibe is all about going with the flow, cherishing whatever comes my way, and also never settling for less. Listening to what my gut says, that’s my secret sauce. Success, for me, is this ongoing journey, and I’m just riding the waves and seeing where they take me.
5. Since you've also worked as an RJ what advice would you give to aspiring RJs?
For aspiring RJs, I'd encourage staying well-informed and staying connected with current affairs. Being the voice on the airwaves means being plugged into what's happening. As the voice of the people, RJs have a platform to inform and engage their audience. It's not just for the chit-chats, it's about being the link between the people and what's buzzing. You get to be the megaphone for their thoughts, concerns, and dreams! Moreover, while staying informed is important, the essence of being an RJ lies in the art of entertainment. It's about striking that balance between information and entertainment!
6. What is a book that you love and will recommend our readers to give it a try?
I am not a bookworm but one book that I would highly recommend is Geeta! Trust me, it's not your typical bedtime story, it’s a game-changer. This book holds a great amount of wisdom and guidance. The verses offer great insights into life, purpose, and the human condition. What's truly impressive about the Geeta is its ability to provide solutions to life's challenges. For those seeking peace or feeling stuck in life, Geeta can be life-changing.
