Arushi and Jason - To Cope With the Distance and Express My Feelings, I Decided to Create a Social Media Page (Instagram Influencer With 50k Followers)

Genuine engagement with my audience, listening to their feedback, and fostering meaningful connections are paramount.

1. Let's start with your family background and how your journey as an influencer began.

My family background is rooted in a middle-class Punjabi Brahmin household, where I grew up immersed in the richness of our joint family culture. Conversely, my partner hails from a middle-class nuclear Korean family with a touch of Christianity's influence.

Our journey as influencers began in 2017 when serendipity brought us together through a mutual friend in January. What started as a friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship on February 6th, 2017. For those curious about the intricacies of our journey, I've detailed it extensively on my YouTube channel.

2. What prompted you to start your social media presence in 2021?

The catalyst for starting my social media presence in 2021 was a deeply personal experience. My partner joined the army, necessitating a period of separation where we had no contact for a month. This separation was challenging, and I found myself missing him immensely.

To cope with the distance and express my feelings, I decided to create a social media page. It became a platform for me to document our journey, share our love story, and navigate the emotions that came with the temporary separation.

3. Can you explain the difference between bloggers and influencers?

Differentiating between bloggers and influencers is nuanced yet crucial in understanding the dynamics of digital content creation. In my perspective, every influencer is essentially a blogger, as they engage in creating content, promotions, and shaping opinions. However, not every blogger can be classified as an influencer. The distinction lies in the level of effort, dedication, and impact that influencers bring to their content creation and audience engagement.

4. Is being an influencer financially sustainable in today's environment?

Financial sustainability as an influencer is attainable, particularly for established influencers with a substantial following and diversified revenue streams. However, for micro-influencers or those just starting out, it requires patience, consistency, and unwavering dedication. The journey often mirrors that of starting as an intern, gradually progressing to a salaried position, and eventually scaling up. While immediate financial rewards may not be apparent at the outset, with persistence and strategic growth, influencers can achieve financial stability and success.

5. How do you understand consumer behavior in the influencer industry?

Understanding consumer behavior in the influencer industry is multifaceted and revolves around several key factors. Consumers are drawn to influencers who exude reliability, relevance, and a connection to ongoing trends and discussions. They seek authenticity and relatability, following influencers who mirror their aspirations, values, and interests.

Engaging with the audience's desires, being part of meaningful conversations, and staying attuned to emerging trends are pivotal in deciphering and leveraging consumer behavior effectively.

6. What is your success mantra as an influencer?

My success mantra as an influencer centers on several core principles. Firstly, consistency is key - showing up regularly with valuable content reinforces audience engagement and loyalty. Secondly, having a clear purpose or niche helps in carving out a distinct identity and attracting a targeted audience. Thirdly, genuine engagement with my audience, listening to their feedback, and fostering meaningful connections are paramount.

Ultimately, success as an influencer is not just about chasing views or monetary gains but about creating meaningful, impactful content that resonates with and enriches the lives of my followers.
