Diversifying your income streams, such as through sponsored posts and even selling your products or services, can help create more financial stability.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I have a solid foundation in architecture, which has significantly shaped my career as an interior designer. I co-founded two interior design firms, Tint Tone Shade in Chennai and Infinity and Beyond in Hyderabad. In addition to my professional work, I am an influencer on Instagram, where I've been creating content about interior design tips and products for the past two years. My journey into content creation wasn't entirely planned, but it has become an essential part of my professional identity.
2. What Led You to Start Your Page on Instagram and What It Is About?
The decision to start my Instagram page stemmed from a practical need to build my firm's brand. When I looked for interior design influencers to collaborate with, I realized there were few out there who could provide a relatable voice and face. This gap sparked the idea to create my own Instagram page. My page features a variety of content, including tips on interior design, unique and useful materials, and recommendations for home products. It aims to educate and inspire those looking to enhance their living spaces.
3. What Is Your Idea of Success or Your Mantra in Life?
My idea of success revolves around creating a positive impact on people's lives. Having personally experienced the challenges of home buying and interior design, I find deep satisfaction in assisting others navigate this process and design their dream homes. I view their success as my own and am dedicated to providing them with the support they need. My mantra is to always strive for excellence and make a meaningful difference in the lives of my clients and followers.
4. How Can Someone Become a Successful Social Media Influencer?
To become a successful social media influencer, it's important to define your niche and target audience clearly. Focus on creating high-quality content that is both authentic and original. Engage with your audience regularly, responding to comments and messages to build a community. Consistency is key; regularly posting content helps maintain audience interest and growth. Additionally, staying true to yourself and your unique voice will help you stand out in the crowded social media landscape.
5. Is It Financially Sustainable to Be an Influencer Today?
Being an influencer can be financially sustainable, but it is often unpredictable. Income can vary widely based on factors such as audience size, engagement rate, and the types of brand collaborations you secure. It's important to have a realistic understanding of these challenges before pursuing this path full-time. Diversifying your income streams, such as through sponsored posts, affiliate marketing, and even selling your own products or services, can help create more financial stability.
6. How Would You Distinguish the Term Blogger from Influencer?
The main distinction between a blogger and an influencer lies in their platforms and content focus. Bloggers primarily use a blog as their main platform, focusing on in-depth content related to a specific niche or topic. Their writing can be informative, instructional, or creative. Influencers, on the other hand, leverage a variety of platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and sometimes a blog. Their content is more about building a connection with their audience and showcasing their personality and lifestyle. While both bloggers and influencers aim to provide value to their audiences, the methods and mediums they use differ significantly.
