"Skin tone is not a measure of beauty—radiance, clarity, and confidence are."

Q. After 25 years in dermatology, what sparked your passion for cosmetic lasers and inspired you to become a trailblazer in this field?

My journey in dermatology began with a deep desire to heal and restore. Over time, I realized that beyond treating disease, I could also empower confidence through appearance.

Cosmetic lasers were a breakthrough—they combined science, precision, and artistry. The transformative results they offered, especially with minimal downtime, fascinated me.

I was drawn to innovate and adopt newer technologies early on because I wanted to offer my patients the best of global advancements, right here in India.

Q. Cutis Skin Solution has become a beacon of hope for many—what inspired you to create this clinic, and how do you envision its impact on Mumbai’s skincare journey?

Cutis was born from a vision to make ethical, evidence-based, and effective skin solutions available in a warm, doctor-driven setting.

I wanted to move away from the idea of a cold, commercial aesthetic clinic and instead create a space where care is personal and holistic.

Over the years, Cutis has grown with Mumbai—helping students, professionals, brides, and even celebrities feel their best. My aim is for it to remain a trustworthy destination where skin confidence meets clinical excellence.

Q. As a pioneer shaping the future of cosmetic dermatology, which cutting-edge laser technologies excite you the most, and how do you see them transforming patient care?

I’m particularly excited about Endolift 1470nm a minimally invasive laser that tightens skin and contours the face from within, bridging the gap between surgery and non-surgical aesthetics.

Technologies like fractional CO₂, HIFU, QS lasers, and RF microneedling also continue to evolve, offering safer and more tailored treatments for Indian skin types.

These advancements are helping us deliver faster, more precise results with minimal downtime—redefining what patients can expect from cosmetic dermatology.

Q. What’s the most memorable transformation you’ve witnessed in a patient, and how did it reaffirm your commitment to this work?

There are a few but one that comes to mind is a young woman who came to me like a werewolf and dark but thin damaged skin. She had seen a you tube video of me.

Turns out she had been using whitening creams which had steroid and harmful chemicals. She showed me her pre-picture. She was beautiful.

She said she was rejected 17 times for marriage as she was dusky, so there is a constant pressure on some girls in India to be fair. Over a year of consistent treatment and counseling, she could regain her skin and her confidence.

I saw her not only clear up physically but emotionally open up, smile more, and chase her career goals. Watching that emotional transformation—how skin healing could empower life changes—was deeply moving.

It reminded me that we’re not just treating skin, we’re transforming self-worth.

Q. How do you stay motivated and innovative in an ever-evolving field like cosmetic dermatology?

I am an artist at heart. I want to innovate . I stay curious, I travel, I learn—from conferences, from my peers, and even from my patients.

Every skin is a story, and with every story, there's a lesson. I surround myself with a team that believes in growth and innovation.

Teaching, mentoring, and staying rooted in the “why” of my work keeps me inspired—because passion and purpose go hand in hand.

Q. Glutathione treatments are popular among many seeking skin whitening—what’s your professional take on their effectiveness and safety?

Glutathione, as an antioxidant, has its merits—especially in detoxification, skin immunity building and general wellness. It's also good for hair.

However, its role in skin lightening is often overstated and poorly regulated. I always emphasize safe usage and informed consent. It’s crucial to shift the conversation from “whitening” to “brightening” and “healthy skin.”

Skin tone is not a measure of beauty—radiance, clarity, and confidence are. Treatments should enhance individuality, not chase unrealistic ideals.
