Sana Saeed Interview
“Unlearning the need for approval was my biggest lesson—authenticity is my true success.”
1. How has your journey from a child artist to a public figure shaped you?
It’s been both a blessing and a reckoning. Growing up in the spotlight introduced me to a magical world of creativity and discipline at a very young age. But it also meant constantly being watched, praised, judged, and labeled before I even understood who I truly was. That shaped me early—I became hyper-aware, a perfectionist, always trying to live up to the image the world had created for me.
Over time, I realized that unlearning was just as important as learning. I had to unlearn the need for approval, and the belief that success is only external. My journey has been about peeling back those layers, reconnecting with my truth, and choosing authenticity over performance—especially off-camera.
2. What major challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?
Moving from India to Los Angeles gave me a fresh start, but it also meant facing the uphill challenge of breaking into a new market while staying authentic. At the same time, I was privately healing from an eating disorder that had silently shaped years of my life.
Overcoming it required deep inner work and learning to love and respect my body beyond its appearance or performance. I invested not only in my craft but also in my wellness, mental health, and mindset. Co-founding Beyond Magic Studios with my husband allowed me to tell stories I believe in and build something bigger than myself. Sometimes, the most powerful way to break through is to stop waiting for permission and create your own door.
3. How do you stay authentic in today’s curated social media world?
For me, it’s never about perfection—it’s about intention. Whether I’m sharing something cinematic, wellness-focused, or personal, I always ask: does this reflect who I truly am or who I’m becoming?
I want to create meaningful experiences, show the messy magic of real growth, and build a bridge between my audience and the dreamer inside them.
4. What role does self-reflection play in your personal growth?
Self-reflection is everything. I meditate daily, journal often, and visualize the future I want to create. It’s how I process setbacks, reconnect with my purpose, and realign my actions. Reflection gives me clarity in chaos and direction when things feel overwhelming.
5. What values guide you in your career and public life?
Intention and impact. I believe in being clear about why I do what I do, staying true to my inner compass, and using my platform to uplift others—especially dreamers.
6. Was there a moment or project that changed your perspective?
Yes—moving to Los Angeles and starting over was that defining moment. It forced me to question everything: my identity, my art, my goals. But in that questioning, I discovered new confidence and a deeper sense of purpose.
7. What advice would you give to young creatives or aspiring artists?
Don’t wait for permission. Learn your craft, master your mindset, and create your own opportunities.
The world needs your voice. Stay curious, stay grounded, and never underestimate the power of consistent action fueled by deep belief. And always remember: your uniqueness is your superpower.
