Model, actor, and certified ACE Fitness Trainer Kuldeep Chauhan shares his journey from Jodhpur to the Top 30 of Mr. India 2025. Standing 6'5", the former Mr. Jodhpur 2020 reflects on his physical transformation, balancing industry standards with authentic individuality, transitioning between stage and screen, and overcoming self-doubt as an emerging artist.

Q. For those discovering you for the first time, how would you introduce yourself beyond your identity as a model, actor, and theatre artist?

I would describe myself as a person who believes in continuous growth, discipline, and self-expression. I come from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, and my journey has been about building myself not just physically, but mentally and professionally as well.

Fitness has played a key role in shaping my personality. My transformation from being a skinny guy to building the physique I have today taught me patience, consistency, and the importance of believing in yourself even when the results are not visible.

Beyond modelling and acting, I am a fitness professional, a content creator, and an entrepreneur. Every role I take on gives me a different opportunity to connect with people and tell a story. I want to be known not just for my appearance or achievements, but for my work ethic, versatility, and the person I am becoming through this journey.

I believe appearance may create the first impression, but personality, confidence, and professionalism are what make you memorable. The modelling industry certainly has its standards, and I respect the importance of fitness, grooming, presentation, and staying updated with trends.

However, I never want to lose my individuality in the process. My height, my Rajasthani roots, my physique, and my personal style are all parts of what make me different. Instead of trying to become a copy of someone else, I focus on presenting my own identity in the best viable way.

For me, the key is to adapt professionally without compromising who you are. Trends will change, and industry expectations may evolve, but authenticity will always be an individual's strongest asset.

Q. Modelling often comes with intense competition and expectations around appearance. How do you keep your individuality while meeting industry standards?

Q. As a Top 30 finalist at Mr India 2025, what was the most valuable lesson you took away from the experience, beyond the competition itself?

Being a Top 30 finalist at Mr India 2025 was a significant milestone in my journey, but the most valuable lesson was that success is much bigger than a title or a position.

The experience taught me the importance of preparation, patience, self-belief, and presenting yourself with confidence even when talented people surround you. It also reminded me that everyone has a different journey, and comparing your progress with someone else's can distract you from your own potential.

For me, reaching that stage was not just about competing; it was about representing my hard work, my background, and the person I have worked to become. I came away with greater clarity about my goals and a stronger belief that consistency and the courage to keep showing up can take you a long way.

Q. You work across modelling, acting, and theatre. How does performing on stage differ from being in front of a camera, and what has theatre taught you about yourself?

The biggest difference is the connection between the performer and the audience. In theatre, you must hold the audience's attention in real time. There are no retakes, and you must stay completely present, emotionally connected, and prepared to handle whatever happens on stage.

In front of a camera, the process is more detailed and controlled. Expressions, body language, eye contact, and even the smallest movements can make a difference because the camera captures everything closely.

Theatre has taught me discipline, patience, emotional awareness, and how to think on my feet. It has also helped me understand that acting is not simply about delivering dialogues; it is about understanding a character and making the audience believe in that character's emotions.

Whether I am performing on stage or in front of a camera, I carry the same principle with me: understand the story, respect the craft, and give the performance everything you have.

Q. With social media playing such a key role in building a public image, how do you balance the person people see online with who you really are?

Social media is an important part of my professional life because it allows me to showcase my work, connect with brands, inspire people through fitness, and share my journey with a wider audience. But there is a difference between building a public image and defining your entire identity through it.

Online, people may see the shoots, the fashion, the physique, the achievements, and the successful moments. What they may not always see is the discipline, the failures, the struggles, and the challenging work behind those moments.

I try to use social media as a platform to express myself rather than create an artificial version of myself. I want my content to reflect my personality, my interests, and my professional goals while staying grounded in real life.

For me, the real measure of success is not just how people perceive you online, but whether you remain the same person when the camera is switched off.

Q. Many young people aspire to enter modelling and acting but struggle with rejection, limited opportunities, and self-doubt. What practical advice would you give someone starting from nothing?

My first piece of advice would be: do not wait for the perfect opportunity to start building yourself.

When I began my fitness journey in 2016, I was not the person I am today. Building my physique, developing my confidence, and working towards opportunities in modelling and entertainment took time. My journey taught me that progress comes from consistent effort, not overnight success.

If you are starting from nothing, focus on five things: build your skills, take care of your fitness and presentation, create a strong portfolio, develop your communication skills, and network professionally. Use social media to showcase your talent, but do not depend entirely on followers or online validation to measure your worth.

Most importantly, learn to handle rejection. Sometimes you may not fit a particular brief, and sometimes opportunities may not come your way despite your preparation. That does not mean you lack potential. Learn from every experience, improve what you can, and keep moving forward.

And always remember to value your work. Be professional, understand your worth, and be careful of opportunities that exploit aspiring artists. You do not need to become successful overnight; you need to become better consistently.

Q. If you could swap lives with any actor or model for a day, who would it be, and what would you do first?

If I could swap lives with someone for a day, I would choose Hrithik Roshan. I admire his combination of physical fitness, screen presence, dancing ability, and dedication to his craft.

The first thing I would want to do is experience his training and preparation routine firsthand, understanding how he maintains such an elevated level of physical performance while preparing for demanding roles. After that, I would love to spend time on a film set and observe how he approaches a character, works with the director, and prepares for a scene.

As someone who is passionate about fitness, modelling, and acting, there is always something to learn from people who have mastered multiple aspects of their profession. For me, the most exciting part would be understanding the discipline behind the success, not just experiencing the fame.

Q. Is there a book, novel, movie, or web series that has stayed with you and that you would love to recommend to our audience? What makes it special to you?

One film I would recommend to the audience is 12th Fail. What makes it special to me is its message that your circumstances do not have to define your future.

The film highlights the importance of perseverance, honesty, and the courage to keep going when life does not go according to plan. I connect with that message because my own journey in fitness and the entertainment industry has taught me that meaningful growth takes time, and there will always be challenges along the way.

I believe success is not about having a perfect beginning; it is about how consistently you work towards your goals despite the obstacles. That is a message I would love young people to take away from the film.
