1. Tell us about your background and journey?

I was blogging as a hobby while i was studying and little did I know that I could earn from it. I completed my masters in microbiology and started working as a trainee research scientist in a well known Pharma company which is also an MNC. My work got hectic and was not able to give time to blogging and eventually decided to leave my job and take blogging as a full time career when i was sure I am earning enough to make a living, of course. I grew as a content creator and here I am today!

I along with a partner (we are a team) work on theindianspot.com, littlediy.com, littlereviews.com and thelittleshine.com and our youtube ‘Little Diy’.

2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?

Like I said, i started as a hobby which eventually turned into career. I have always loved skin care, makeup and hair care but my love for beauty just grew even more when I researched on natural botanical extracts in my final year research project (and got it published too) and studied cosmetology (the microbial aspect) as one subject in my final year masters. Creating content keeps me happy and keeps me going!

3. Is blogging and content creation a financially sustainable career?

If you really love working on your content and if taken seriously and with discipline, it can definitely be a financially sustainable career; but again, its a gradual process.

4. Who is your favourite creator and why?

It is tough to name one creator as I have many favourites and everyone is best in what they do. But if I have to pick 1, it would be Shreya Jain. One of the many things that I love in her is their determination and hard work and the excitement to always come up with something new! This is quite motivating and shoots an instant current in me to get up and work.

5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

Constant research and receiving queries from people who look up to me are the only 2 things that keep me inspired to churn out new content.

6. What does you typical day look like?

I get up by 8am, have my coffee and sit to jot down my day’s work, reply emails etc. Write articles for the blog and shoot blog images and also Instagram videos. Finish editing and stuff by 8pm and maybe research on some more blog and content topics/ingredients/go through research papers etc. by dinner time.

7. Which is your favourite book and why?

I believe in the Law of Attraction and love re-reading ‘The Secret- by Rhonda Byrne’. It reminds me to stay positive and think good and believe in the process. Another favourite is ‘Good Vibes Good Life- by Vex King’.

8. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?

Always believe in the process, research well, create content around things you love and be creative with it, be consistent and look at  it as a hobby first and not as an instant money making process because its never going to be that way and is a gradual process to be frank. Love your work, treat it with respect and it will love you back.
