1. Tell us more about yourself and your profession.

My name is Amanda, I am 23 years old, and I live in Ontario, Canada. I truly have a passion for helping people and spreading love to people. I recently finished my undergrad program, and now I am a registered nurse! I also have a passion for health and fitness, so I’m also a fitness trainer.

My main goal with that is to help women feel strong, healthy, and confident. I know a lot of women struggle with gaining weight so I predominately help with that, but I also help with weight loss too! I do this by teaching them the healthy and correct way to reach their fitness goals.

2. What is your fitness mantra?

My fitness mantra includes weight/strength training, eating healthy, and drinking lots of water! Living healthy and staying fit for me is a lifestyle, I don’t do “fad diets” or the “quick fixes”

3. What are some of major misconceptions about diets and exercises?

One big misconception is that you can achieve your fitness goals quickly. Some people believe that if you put a couple weeks of hard work in you can see quick results. But that’s not the case.

That also goes with “fad diets” or “yo-yo dieting”, such as huge calorie restriction, fat-free diets, keto diets, etc. When people do these diets they don’t see results, OR they do see results but then once they stop the diet and go back to their old ways, they lose all of their results and end up back they started, or even worse than they started.

That’s why healthy eating, patience, and hard work are the key to successfully achieving your goals.

4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle?

A healthy lifestyle includes being active and trying getting some sort of exercise in everyday. Even just walking, dancing, or playing outdoor sports are all good exercise! Living a healthy lifestyle also includes choosing healthier food options.

Try and cut out the high sugary drinks, the deep fried and processed foods, and trust me you will notice a difference in the way you feel! And last, have fun with it! Living a healthy lifestyle isn’t supposed to be difficult or super restricting, don’t don’t be hard on yourself and just enjoy it!

5. How can one build a successful career in your field?

The key to building a successful career in ANY field is to have a passion for it, because if you don’t have a passion for it then you won’t enjoy it, and it will feel like a burden on you. So pick a field that you have a passion for, then become an expert in that field or topic.

I have put so much learning and educating myself in the health and fitness field so that I am able to educate and help other women. Then I post my tips, workout videos, and educational value on Instagram and YouTube, and women who want my help find me that way!

6. What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to lose weight and gain weight?

One piece of advice to someone who wishes to gain or lose weight would be this: Don’t give up. If you don’t see results right away, then please don’t give up.

It takes hard work, determination, consistency, and patience to start seeing results! Stay determined, stay consistent, and remember your reason “why” you started in the first place; your reason “why” you want to achieve this goal!

7. How do diets and exercise contribute to overall well being and happiness?

Eating healthy and exercising contribute to overall well-being and happiness because you will start to feel better about yourself. Your mood will increase (when you exercise your body naturally releases something called endorphins, which is a “happy” hormone), your mind will feel less foggy, you will feel stronger, you will have more energy, and you will start to feel more confident!

I truly encourage you to start living a healthy lifestyle if you don’t already, and if you ever need help with it I’m always here and happy to answer any questions!
