1. How and when did you choose comedy as a career?
I started in 2013, I thought I was funny and decided to get on stage. I did not know how so I messaged Sorabh Pant, who informed me about a standup comedy workshop that East India Company was doing. I signed up and never stopped after that.
2. What type of content do you enjoy producing the most and is the most challenging?
I mostly do Jokes from my own life and life experiences. The challenge is converting a thought into a set.
3. Do you prefer digital as a medium or do you enjoy doing live gigs more and why?
I love doing live gigs as the reaction is instant, and we don't need a good internet connection to make people laugh.
4.People, who are interested in taking up stand-up comedy as a profession, do they need a funny bone or they can develop one?
You need a funny bone and you should accept it early on as there will be enough people in the industry to tell you otherwise.
5. How stable is being a stand-up comedian as a profession in India? And what is the future of this profession?
Nothing is stable in 2020, but where there is a will there is a way. And now we are doing comedy on zoom. Online shows have helped us reach a larger audience.
6. What impact do you want to make in this world?
That is a very profound question so I will give a profound answer, I believe the world is a stage and there is a place for everyone in this world. The more the merrier.
7. Which is your favourite book and why?
My favorite book is "About a Boy" by Tony Parson because he is honest and vulnerable in his storytelling.
