1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

To be honest, I never thought of being a YouTuber. I wanted to become an RJ. But my parents wanted me to do civil engineering. Then one fine day I’ve got a call through which I went to a radio audition and got selected for training and then I started searching for job for almost 2 yrs.

I approached all the radio stations for job but nobody hired me. Then I started doing my Bachelor’s in Mass Communication and Journalism. After 2 yrs I’ve got opportunity to be a RJ in an online radio station, it was a web radio which is mostly listened by western countries.

I’ve worked there for around 6 months. Then with my friends I’ve started an online station. As I was keen towards RJ I started giving online training. Apart from that I worked for a US-based company for 2 years.

2. When did you decide to be a YouTuber?

As I told earlier I’ve always wanted to be an RJ but inspite of many attempts I received no response from them, During that time YouTube was slowly emerging into a trending profession, Bhuvan Bam was a sensation those days, after seeing his channel and his videos that is when I aspired of being a YouTuber, I also thought I could use these videos as reference to approach the radio stations.

Then basing those formats for trial I did a video on Valentine’s Day and uploaded it on Facebook and YouTube and it had a good amount of views and likes, then I made a channel with my friends support named BAKWAS BROTHERS and we started making videos but then to get likes and promoting videos was a huge task, so I’ve decided to make fake accounts on Facebook.

So that I could upload my video and tag and share it to all other fake accounts which I created and blissfully basing that I’ve received huge response for the videos and the views on got increased reaching to around 2000 at initial stages. Then I quit my job and started focusing on it.

3. What made you start your own channel and what is it about?

Of all my videos my 5th or 6th video went viral and it was posted on Telugu Dubsmash page on Facebook and that was noticed by an YouTube channel named CHAI BISKET and they gave me a call. To be honest I thought it was a prank made by my friends so to confirm I asked them to share their location and that is when I realized that things were happening for real!!!

Then I decided to join CHAI BISKET but my purpose for joining was very different. They shot a video at Radio Mirchi radio station. So I thought using their influence I could settle being an RJ as already said I’ve always wanted to be an RJ.

In my initial videos I used to not perform well so that they could remove me from acting and set me up into RJ field. But they never gave up on me and always had confidence in me that I would perform well, which led us shooting a web series BACHELOR ROOM LO BAWARCHI.

My present channel is originated from CHAI BISKET itself named BOYFORMULA, firstly they offered me doing a channel named SINGLE SHIVA but I was not much connected to that content, so I wanted a different channel which had the format of Ashish Chanchlani, BB ki Vines.

I’ve waited for around 1 and a half year and that is when I’ve got my own channel i.e BOY FORMULA on November 15 which consists of all the content that relates to What problems boys face on a daily basis or What all things usually boys could relate to in their life.

4. What difficulties you face being a YouTuber?

Coming to difficulties one common thing every YouTuber face is to crosscheck if the content which we have done has any similar videos or not, because if there is any similarity people would treat it as a copied video. So yes, before posting I make sure I check there isn’t any similar content related to my video.

Another difficulty is making your video trending as there are already many YouTube channels that have come up recently and are running pretty well. So, I take it as a healthy competition.

The major problem which we face is during the shoot, because not always the weather, location, ambience etc., is in your favor and till we get the perfect output we are supposed to face them all.

5. How do you react to the comments you get on your video?

I basically enjoy reading comments especially negative comments, as that really helps me to grow. I personally feel it as, when a viewer has invested some of their time in watching your video and if they don’t like it then obviously, they have the right to comment whatever they feel.

Actually, comments allow me to know what my subscribers actually expect from my videos and it helps me to know what kind of content they enjoy watching. When you accept positive comments then it is obvious that you must be ready to accept negative comments too. We have also done a video on reacting to mean comments.

6. Is YouTube a financially stable career?
Until and unless you get maximum views for your video you won’t be having a stable career. I’m not a freelancing YouTuber, I work under Chai Bisket. So, I wouldn’t be saying it is a financially stable career, but you would be receiving decent income based on the number of views, likes, and subscribers on your channel.

To get reach and subscribers you need to consistently keep posting and updating your content to be stable in the YouTube field.

7. Which is your favorite video on your channel?

It’s hard to choose but there are few videos which are really close to my heart, and they are MUSLIM GIRLFRIEND, SANKRANTHI HOMECOMING (as it was written and directed by me as it was shot in a single day and was edited within half a day as I had to leave to another shoot) and also all the MOM & SON series in my channel.

8. What advice would you give to the aspiring YouTuber’s?

For any aspiring YouTuber to become a successful content creator it is necessary to have a lot of Patience. I suggest not to depend much on others, not to worry much about not having a team, or friends for making or supporting the video. You have everything available on YouTube from editing to posting.

Simple thing is if you follow YouTube you can become a YouTuber. If you lack ideas for your content you can search for trending topics or else you can go through a lot of memes, as they’ve got many ideas in them, you can also watch other videos for reference so that you can know what kind of content people are interested in viewing.
