Constant Growth Is The Key To Success - Janvi Singh

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I was born in a small town named Kanpur, India. I moved to Mumbai in the year 2016 to pursue my undergraduate degree. The last two generation of my family have owned Multiple Businesses & one of them happens to be running a successful showroom of Gold & Diamonds.

Knowing what my Grandfather & Father have made their career into and I being the eldest in the family it was evident I will be expanding their business further as that’s what they expected from me (New Generation) giving her input and becoming helping hand via new ethics & techniques.

For which, I choose my career in Fashion Accessories from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) my entrance score was 118 all over India. I was very happy, moving to Mumbai & coming from a small town I experienced good and difficult situations which made me Strong & Independent as a person.

Once I got into Fashion Accessories I realized this is not what I really enjoy doing. I’ve always enjoyed watching films & understanding Cinema so after a year I switched my stream from FA to Film Making, I pursued Films and graduated with the A+ Grade and I enjoyed each and every lecture, we were taught things that normal people might not understand while watching films and we had discussions on characters, cinematography, etc.

While Pursuing Film Making I also interned as a Casting Assistant at Mukesh Chabbra Casting Company (MCCC) apart from that I work as a Model and Social Media Influencer. I’ve been an influencer from the last 3 years now and can say that I do provide amazing values & good content to my audience.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

While I was pursuing Fashion Accessories we had projects every week where we had to show our designs to our professors and hiring a model was taxing so my friends approached me once for photoshoot & Pictures turned out to be amazing.

After which for an entire year everyone from Fashion Accessories to Fashion Designing everyone approached me for project collaboration and I Really enjoyed getting clicked and the attention that I used to get from everyone :D

Apart from that I always wanted to do something that would keep me happy in the first place & motivated so here I am acing it haha just kidding. My page is all about positive Quotes representing my styling with a little element of Women Empowerment & collaborations with different upcoming brands in the Social Media Market.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

Well, blogging is a wide concept whereas Influencers holds a massive power to influence his/her following through their opinions. Whereas Blogging is a free publishing platform it may or may not stick to one particular topic.

As an Influencer one has to keep their Social Media Updated (Give every detail of their day to day activities) more or less become a public figure and make sure people are enjoying the content provided to them and know what exactly the audience expects from the influencer in order to keep the show going.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

It all depends on the efforts & hard work you put in. If one tends to give their one hundred percent and put in time & energy that one needs in any other business or service sector then of course the rewards are commendable & not only survive but also grow financially.

Also not to forget the perks Influencers get like traveling to different places (On Client’s Pay) and getting an infinite amount of Clothes, Accessories, or products an Influencer specializes in.

5. What do you think influences consumer behavior?

It’s very easy to fool your audience :P haha not really, the audience is very smart and the market is very competitive If they do not like what they see one can easily be replaced hence one has to provide content that people enjoy and mainly understanding the target audience.

In General, be it any part of the country humans tend to relate to things they can connect to emotionally if you provide that to them with their need they can connect with the influencer on a deeper level.

Apart from that what I have observed through my audience it’s all psychological as they react a lot on motivation, beliefs & positive energy they get through my page which gets them influenced. Influencers have a huge amount of fan following, if an Influencer is able to reach them Via Direct Messages and Comment replies it creates a stronger bond and gives a value of trust.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

To live a life that sets you free adds happiness & peace and a good sense of motive to your life. Slow progress but constant growth.

7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

This is the time for Social Media Influencing as everyone has understood the scope of online business. Brands want to collaborate with Influencers in order to expand their reach and drive conversions.

Initially, one might have to invest money in Clothing, Location, Physical appearance, etc, and give their best. It requires a good lifestyle routine, hard work, and the ability to utilize each & every opportunity. Once they see the growth one can hire Social Media Manager who can handle all PR & business-related activities.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

I actually am not a big fan of reading but during my flights I don’t have an option so I read this very inspirational book by Gaur Gopal Das, it’s called Life’s Amazing Secrets. It helps the reader to find balance and purpose in life.

Apart from that I’m really inspired by Sadhguru and have read this beautiful book ‘Inner Engineering’ it talks about spirituality and the path of joy Yoga can lead to.
