Your background in less than 50 words.
I am a playback singer, dubbing artist, RJ and an Independent musician. A self-taught instrument player, artist and a writer :)

What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?
It was random like anyone else, I just created it to have a connect with close friends and some followers who would be interested to know about my work and life. But my instagram family has grown up to 2,70,000 followers, I’m extremely happy about it and it has become a part of my life now and now I post effortlessly and be as original as possible.

How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?
I also had a blog called "Sharmas singoholic" which is not in use now though, as I have lost touch with it. I extremely enjoyed writing articles there, so I think I can call myself a blogger. The only difference I saw is that being an influencer can get more interactive and fancy. Whereas a blogger can be "on point" as to the subject they are dealing with, and doesn't have the pressure to make it look fascinating or beautiful. Being an influencer, needs a lot of effort because it’s just not sufficient having content, but it’s also important to take care of how you would be presenting it.

Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?
I'm quite unsure about it as my source of income is no ultimately dependent on being an influencer. Financials come into the scene through being a part of promotions. And as far as promotions come into the scene, I think people can gain a lot of followers, follow their passion, or make it a side business may be, but I don’t think it can go mainstream as in earning a livelihood.

What do you think influences consumer behaviour?
Originality is any day the only fashion that works authentically. As mindsets have changed and the times are changing. People look out for "how original it is" rather than "how beautiful it is”. Now this is a bit confusing because people like something that is presented in a very different, fancy way but they also are smart enough to analyse if it’s real or not. So I prefer being as original as possible. So, I think as influencers, the hardest part is to retain the beauty in presenting, along with being original.

Your opinion on Instagram contemplating removing likes option for posts.
I think it’s fun to see how many likes you have and how followers are increasing and all, but it also becomes hectic sometimes for competitive influencers as they have the pressure to be on top in the race, for the brands to approach. The thought seems fine only till its restricted to fun but it would change the scenario if influencing becomes main stream.

Which is your favourite book and why?
I have many, but one book that really influenced me would be "Who will cry when you die" by Robin Sharma. Being busy in our day to day lives I think we forget the minute details of our life and that book reminded me of so many things that I forgot practicing and it made me look at life from a different and better perspective. It is definitely one of the most important pick if you like self-empowering yourself.

What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?
Success to me is a journey and not a destination as we have heard this from a Ben Sweetland. Having an ultimate goal in life and climbing every step with love and compassion along with being happy and living in the moment with a balanced emotional intelligence would be my kind of a Mantra in life. I prefer having short term goals along with having long term goals because achieving short term goals can be used for self-motivation, as long term goals can get exhausting and demotivating for the continues efforts, struggles and hurdles they take. What so ever, being happy is the ultimate goal in life, but achieving something along with being happy doesn't do any harm.
