1. Your background in less than 50 words.
I was born to Dr.Ajit Bhaskar and Dr.Lakshmi at Calicut. I am from a musically inclined family and I was initiated to Carnatic music lessons at a very young age. My grandmother Smt.Kamala Subramaniam is my first guru in Carnatic music. I also started learning western violin when in school. These interests gradually grew into a passion. It was while I working as a software engineer, after my computer science engineering course that I decided to take up music as my full-time profession.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?
I quite naturally went with the trend and joined Instagram like everybody else. Later on, I realized how important social media was to reach out to people, especially for artists. I have been using Instagram clearly for professional purposes It is important for us artists to let the people know of our existence at all, first and foremost, and also what we are up to on a professional front. Since I am into music, a little bit of modeling, a little dancing, and some fashion, my page contains posts related to all of these. But I am not very keen on posting much about my personal life.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?
I believe a blogger is one who writes content on topics of their choice sometimes accompanied by photographs too. An influencer is usually a person with a sufficiently large number of followers and who is capable of influencing choices of people with respect to products or services or other activities. A blogger may or may not be an influencer and to be an influencer one need not necessarily write blogs. I believe anyone with a large follower base is knowingly or unknowingly capable of influencing people in one way or the other.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?
Sustainability of anything is uncertain in today’s world. Everybody just makes hay when the sun shines. Likewise, influencers make money when they can.

5. What do you think influences consumer behavior?
The advertisements play the biggest role in influencing consumers. Ads are almost everywhere these days, be it T.V, radio, social media, public places (sometimes people don’t even realize that those are ads) and consumers almost end up having no choice to ignore them. There are of course other factors like the availability of the product, financial conditions of the buyer, peer influence, and so on.

6. Your opinion on Instagram contemplating removing likes option for posts.
I realize that Instagrammers have developed a tendency to crave for more and more likes for the posts. If the like’s option is removed, this craving will probably be shifted to the number of followers or the number of comments. So there is always going to be something else they will crave for. So I don’t think removing these options is going to make the Instagramming experience any healthier.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?
I am not much of a reader I must admit. But among the very few books, I have read, the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is my favorite. I have always been fascinated by Christianity for no specific reason. To top that, a mystery plot including historical facts only excited me even more. I remember sleeping on it for days, running it in my head over and over again.

8. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?
Happiness is a success for me. When one is content and happy doing what he or she is doing, I call it a success. I see a lot of successful people, but I don’t see too many happy people. I hope the proportion changes someday
