Food Blogger in India Can Earn Quite a Good Amount by Promoting Different Restaurants and Cafes - Diksha Bhatia

As from earning point of view, food blogging is not that easy. It's not just about clicking good pictures of the food, there is a lot of hard work behind those pictures which people don’t know about.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Hello everyone, I am Diksha Bhatia, a Food & Lifestyle Blogger from Delhi. I did my masters in Maths from Delhi. I started this page "Flavoursofdelhincr" in June'19. I have Collaborated with more than 150 brands including Food & Lifestyle.

In 2019, I was going through a very tough time, I was in a Situational Depression. I have isolated myself from others including my friends & relatives. Luckily, the Internet has made it easy to divert my mind. As I always used to be a Foodie. And I love to explore the hidden street food gems of Delhi.

I created a new account on Instagram and started posting Food Pictures. Then I started receiving comments on my posts which makes me happy. After few months, I started getting responses from different Restaurants & Cafe's.

Then I discovered Instagram food influencing and soon it got converted into blogging & then I decided to start Food Blogging. It's important to do something to freshen up your mood. I did my best to distract myself from over thinking as your thoughts are your enemy when depression sets in.

2. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?

My favourite cuisine is Indian without any doubt and my favourite dish is Chole Bhature as being a Punjabi I love to eat Chole Bhature on every other day and this is the reason behind my weight gain as I put on 10 to 15 kgs in just 6 months.

3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

In today's scenario, a Food blogger in India can earn quite a good amount by Promoting different Restaurants and cafes. Food Bloggers help people to stay updated about new places and food items available in the city.

As from earning point of view, food blogging is not that easy. It's not just about clicking good pictures of the food, there is a lot of hard work behind those pictures which people don’t know about.

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

I recommend Plum by Bent Chair, Aerocity. One of the best place in Delhi because of it's eye-catching, designer walls, beautiful ambience & furniture. This place has a unique vibe. You can buy Home Decor items like furniture, show piece. So enjoy shopping while having delicious Food. From starters to drinks & desserts all perfect. Must visit this place.

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

Frankly speaking, one should always appreciate the basic simple Food they are having on daily basis. Such meals are forgotten in the world of social media. And since social media plays such a huge part in our lives, we often forget to appreciate those regular, everyday meals we are having.

But we (as a Food Bloggers) look for the dishes that are attractive and the way the food looks on the plate is what tempts our eyes and makes us want to taste it. So yes, food presentation is most important for us.

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

I love to try all types of cuisines but my comfort Food is Chole Bhature that too street style not the one from famous outlets like Haldiram or Bikaner & some of my favourite places to have Chole Bhature are Om Corner, Nagpal Chole Bhature, Prem Di Hatti and of course Sita Ram Diwan Chand. And of course I associate it with me as it's Spicy like me

7. Which is your favourite book and why?

My favourite Book is "Man's search for meaning". As I mentioned above about the difficult phase of my life. This is a must read book for a person who is hopeless in his life, who thinks this is the end of his life.

So to all the people who are depressed or sad, I just want to say that "Times were different and I think you will conquer".
