Nothing Comes in the Haze, You Have to Be Patient - Dikshant Gupta

1. Tell us more about your company and your journey.

My journey started as a founder or you can say entrepreneur in 2018. Some raw idea came to my mind and I start exploring it. That moment is the beginning of HD events. Raw ideas are the purest form of success if you are able to tap it and believe me no raw idea remains raw unless you yourself want to scrap it.

So talking about the journey of HD events, we are an event planning startup which mainly focuses on organizing college festivals, managing celebrities, organizing musical concerts, and digital marketing for brands. We have now collaborated with artists of almost every domain of entertainment whether actors, actress, singers, comedians, DJs, anchors, performers etc.

2. How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?

As I said earlier also that the idea that spark your mind should be polished and planned right away. Same happened with me also, I was planning some fest for my college and because of which I got into contacting singers for that, one idea came to my mind that there is a need for a platform where everyone who is in need of celebrity/Performers for their event can get it with just a phone call.

Without putting effort in getting contacts of some common links, trying to search for days in searching ways to contact celebrities and get them invited to their events, especially college students face these problems at the time of fest and also by people who are not influential enough to get the contact of celebrities.

3. What has been your biggest challenge that you faced and how did you overcome that?

The biggest challenge that I faced is to get the contacts of celebrities and getting them onboard. It's quite challenging in knowing celebrities personally when you are not one of them and also not influential enough to get their contacts from sources.

Effort, passion and never giving up spirit helps me to overcome it. There are times when we have no one on board with us but after putting efforts and working it with zeal we have now contacts in every domain of artists.

4. What do you think are the most important qualities of a successful entrepreneur?

According to me never giving up attitude, self believing and yes knowing your passion are the must-have. You just can’t let others believe your idea unless you yourself believe it, and you can give as many hours as possible to your work only when you are passionate about it.

Failures will come, it’s part of life. There is a saying that “there is no free lunch in finance”, same work for every business, unless you put effort, work passionately, never give up on yourself, you will not be able to put a scar on the sky.

5. What are some of the most important factors for running a successful business?

As I told you earlier also passion, self-belief and never giving up attitude are must-have for any business.

6. What are your tips for the first time and aspiring entrepreneurs?

Talking about tips, I can say that early birds/young minds should try to capitulate their ideas and start working on it as no idea is bad, the thing you have to see while working on an idea is how feasible the idea is and whether the demand of the service/product is matching with supply or not.

In other words, you should be able to justify the need for your startup. And yes, age is not a limit, and most of the best successful startup ideas come from people when they are in their collages, so start working the moment you got it because there is not good day than today to start.

7. How can one overcome a hurdle of lack of funds when starting up?

Funds, money, finance whatever we can say is really a question of concern right? But believe me, they are not, once you are passionate about the idea, you will find ways to get it. Often the risk is high in taking up finance for the startups because most of the time you are not doing it on the right time.

Timing matters, nothing comes in the haze you have to be patient. First start working on it the way you can, only when you are able to justify your investment in your startup others will invest.
