Be Persistent, This Is the Only Way to Achieve All Your Dreams - Prajakta Bhosle

I get inspiration from elements of nature. I am a Nature Lover over Art Lover. And sometimes the inspiration is completely my inner feeling and imagination.

1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

Born and brought up in Mumbai, I was always fond of art, craft and everything creative. Being a bright child in academics since school days, I opted for Chartered Accountancy and back then a career in art didn't seem to be an option.

While I was studying in that field, I used to paint as a stress buster and continued my hobby. After completing my CA degree, I started working in a corporate but before that, a lot of people already knew me as an artist. So I often got painting orders and did it in my free time.

I used to call them my happy surprise calls. I even received a call from Apple's Creative team once and that put me on cloud nine. I realised doing a creative job makes me happier and my CA degree funded me becoming a better Artist.

I decided to pursue it as a career, did my first All India Exhibition, organised more than 100's of art workshops in India and Internationally, sold more than 100's of painting, launched my own e-commerce store, started my Youtube Channel and did Art collaborations around the world. My journey so far as an artist and as an art influencer has been very fulfilling.

2. Who is your favourite artist and why?

My Favorite Living Artist is Banksy. The anonymous painter whose work is remarkable and has already created history. His artwork related to social and political causes is quite inspiring for me.

3. Is it a financially stable career?

You definitely need to struggle in the beginning but once you establish yourself well, it does become a stable financial career. You need to spread out yourself financially viable options as well.

An Artist in 2020 is not just who paints but is a combination of someone who knows how to make his/her art reach out to the audience around the world. Social media is itself the biggest platform not just to present and sell artworks but there are other options like being an art educator, art influencer, art therapist which should also be explored.

4. Where do you get inspired to create art?

I get inspiration from elements of nature. I am a Nature Lover over Art Lover. And sometimes the inspiration is completely my inner feeling and imagination.

5. What kind of book do you prefer to read?

I recently finished ' Attitude is Everything'. I prefer reading motivational books, that keeps me going.

6. What piece of advice would you like to give to the future aspirants?

Every Career comes with pros and cons. An artistic career can give opportunities to express yourself creatively.

This field has expanded over time and does not only involve the traditional form of painting, so make sure you keep your other financial viable art options open. Also, do what you love but Be Persistent - this is the only way to achieve all your dreams.
