Identify Your Niche and Be Engaging and Consistent With Your Content - Prableen Kaur Bhomrah

Prableen Kaur Bhomrah

My journey started off on a very small scale, where I wanted to do it for myself and be creative because it made me happy, rather than publicizing it. Its been challenging & I have never turned back since then.

1.Tell us about your background and journey.

I’m Prableen Kaur Bhomrah (aka PKB). I’m currently pursuing engineering & I live in a family of 4. I’m based out of Mumbai & I am a digital content creator. The idea of content creation kick started when I was in the second year of college. I was a bubbly kid since childhood, always trying to do something new and creative in life and that’s why I was gravitated towards extra curricular activities. My journey started off on a very small scale, where I wanted to do it for myself and be creative because it made me happy, rather than publicizing it. Its been challenging & I have never turned back since then.

2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?

I felt the world of social media was not so relatable back then. I never saw an influencer exposing their issues on social media, it made me feel the world out there was too perfect. Since everything I saw was sugarcoated, I never related to anyone on social media back then. And that’s how the idea of creating realistic-relatable content came to my mind like issues on PCOS, acne, body shaming & mental health. Later as I evolved I also started creating content around Makeup, Fashion, travel and also food (because I am a foodie).

3.Who is your favorite creator and why?

I like Malvika Sitlani a lot! Her content influences me and also inspires me. She’s one influencer I find that shows her real life in a way that makes people learn and creates a positive impact on their minds. She treats her audience like her family, & her content is very engaging and I love her makeup skills. PS- She’s also very pretty.

4.How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

My content is slightly different from what others put out. I wanted my audience to relate to the content that I create and it was them who inspired me and pushed me to continue doing even more. In the beginning I never thought my acne, PCOS story would be a big buzz, but my audience made that happen. Being a new influencer, while I believed my content was different from others, my friends and family were the ones that pushed me to move forward.

5.Which is your favorite book and why?

My favorite book is The monk who sold his Ferrari. As I read this book it helped me widen my perspective to life. It taught me how to follow my purpose in life and embrace the present. It also helped me visualize my goals and practice positive thinking in a way it wouldn’t sound normal to all.

6.What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?

My advice to the aspiring creators would be that they should be really passionate about what they want to do and not fall into the trap of social media. They should start their career by the vision of inspiring and influencing people positively. Identify your niche and  be engaging and consistent with your content. Because people will always look out for the uniqueness you bring on the plate, and that’s what stands out. Be natural.
