I love what I do and that is reflected on-screen and people like my work. Also, one of the most important thing in life is I respect my work a lot and I believe that till the time you respect your work, work will always come your way.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
So basically, I was born and brought up in Bombay. I was always this simple girl, I still am. My journey before coming in this industry was all about studies, my family and I didn't have many friends back then.
I had only 2-3 school friends and my brother is my best friend since then. After I joined the industry, obviously it did take a big U-turn, once I got the fame, people started knowing me by my name, my family was proud of me.
Though, they were always proud about something or the other I did, but when they used to read the news articles or they used to see me on TV, obviously it was a proud moment for them.
2. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?
No, I never thought of becoming an actor. Since childhood I wanted to get married after 11th, 12th maybe after graduation. If I had a wish that was to become a fashion designer. But then destiny had a different plan and I became an actor.
The doors opened and opportunities came in one by one. Obviously, there was a lot of struggle and hard work involved. Jo industry me ghussne ka zarya tha woh bann gaya, because it was destined to happen so it happened.
3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?
I think the answer is in the question itself when you have a belief to become something, when you have confidence in yourself and you have confidence in your dreams, you know you are not doing anything wrong, or anything that is going to harm anyone.
If you believe in yourself and your dreams then I think the paths open and you will get opportunities. Whichever career it is, the person should love his/her job, whatever that person does, he/she should love what they are doing, then on it's own you start loving that career.
You see, I really love acting now, everyday I want to wake up and go for my shoots. I love what I do and that is reflected on-screen and people like my work. Also, one of the most important thing in life is I respect my work a lot and I believe that till the time you respect your work, work will always come your way.
The moment you start disrespecting your work, work won't come to you. Well, this is what I believe in and that's the reason I respect my work a lot.
4. If not this, what would you be doing?
If not this, then I would have become either a fashion designer or maybe would have gotten married and would have been a housewife.
5. For a compete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?
See, even I am an outsider but industry is still being good to me and I am doing good. I have done good shows and good characters and people have really loved my work.
I just feel that if you have the confidence and most importantly, if you have faith in God and are not doing anything wrong, he is going to guide you and show you the right path. Definitely you will be in the right direction and you will be doing good for yourself. So, I just feel that have faith in God and just love what you are doing and just be happy.
6. What is your mantra of success?
My success mantra is as I said that respect my work because I highly believe that if you respect your work, it gives a lot in return.
7. Which is your favorite book and why?
I don't like reading much so I honestly don't read a lot of books. It's a task for me because even if I start reading a newspaper I feel sleepy. But if there's anything informative or something I should be updated about then I definitely read it.
There was one book recommended by my friend and I really love reading and learning psychology so that is why I have read this book called 'Psychology of Subconscious Mind' and I really loved that book. That was one book which I read with a lot of interest.
